Term 4 - Focus area 1: Health in an Australian and global context

The goal of this unit is to: To explore how healthy Australians are by comparing the health status of Australians, and to evaluate the health status of Australians relative to other OECD countries. Students will examine major chronic conditions and an ageing population, and the impact of these on the healthcare system. Students will further evaluate the healthcare system and investigate changes, particularly in regard to emerging technology, treatments, digital health and big data. Students will also investigate how the United Nations SDGs will inform strategies to improve the health status of a community.
