Yr 11 - Term 1

In Term 1, students will be undertaking a series of Design Challenges.  Each of these focus on different learning, research and development techniques.  Each design challenge will go for about 2 weeks.

Students will identify a need, research about the need, create and solution and evaluate its success. Students will be challenged to think 'Outside the box' and to be creative in their approach to creating an interesting solution. Students should use their personal skills to find their individual solutions, while learning about the design process and the impact of the HSC marking criteria in preparation for developing a Major Project in Term 4 this year. 

The assessment task for the term will utilize all the skills learnt during the projects in both portfolio and practical areas and give students the ability to demonstrate their design skill.

Student will also be working through their textbook, 1 period per cycle to help develop their understanding and all things that influence design.
