Same as: Year 11 MATHEMATICS EXTENSION 2025
Starting Term 1 (2025) and ending Term 3 (2025), students will complete the Preliminary Mathematics Extension 1 and Mathematics Advanced courses. It is a NESA requirement for students studying these courses to complete all assessment Tasks 1 to 3 for BOTH the Mathematics Advanced and Mathematics Extension 1 courses. It is the aim of this program that students in 2025 will complete the Preliminary courses in Mathematics Advanced and Mathematics Extension 1, then commence the HSC courses in Term 4.
Students will be required to be self-directed in their learning and ensure any assistance required is sought from his/her teacher.
To be a successful candidate in this course, a student is expected to have a solid understanding of algebraic skills from Stage 5; this is a pre-requisite for success in this course.
TERM 3 (ADVANCED) - Calculus, Logs and Exponentials.
In Term 3, students will complete the Preliminary Examination for the Mathematics Advanced Course.
It contributes 40% of the overall assessment for Preliminary Mathematics Advanced.
TERM 3 (EXTENSION) - Parametrics, Applications of Calculus, Polynomials.
In Term 3, students will complete the Preliminary Examination for the Mathematics Extension Course.
It contributes 40% of the overall assessment for Preliminary Mathematics Extension.
