Project 1: Design your clock
Project 2: Tiny House
Project 3: LED lamp
Design and Technology develops students ability to conduct effective research, develop design ideas, construct a physical model representation of ideas generated and evaluate the design process whilst documenting all this in a portfolio. This Tiny House project is designed for students to investigate the essentials in living and design within specific, and difficult, requirements.
Students will be able to show a great depth of knowledge and understanding of Design and Technology at the end of this project and they will have an idea of what is expected in Stage 6 for this subject.
The Tiny House project will look at graphical design, perspective drawings and rendering together with essential design, technology and smart and effective use of space. All are essential design skills to get ideas out of the head and onto paper.
The model making practical skills are required by designers to create interactive physical representations for clients and to develop communication techniques. By learning how to utilize multiple materials to create textures, colours and models, students will build skills critical to developing ideas before moving to the manufacturing phase of the design process.
