The common module: Text and Human Experiences explores what makes us human and the experiences that we share. Some specific aspects of the human experience explored include the struggle with adversity, the importance of memory and truth and the search for autonomy. The universal idea of human experiences enables all students to participate and make personal connections with ideas in texts. Students read and respond to a range of other texts, including websites, non fiction recounts, speeches, news articles and short stories. The prescribed text for this unit is the novel Nineteen Eighty Four.
