Year 7 Mathematics Mainstream 

TERM 3, 2026

Students will begin Term 3 with Topic 6 - Data Visualisation and Analysis, where students will classify data before investigating various methods of displaying and analysing this information.

In Topic 7 – Angles and Shapes, students will apply the language, notation and conventions of geometry. They will then explore geometrical relationships between angles at a point, and those associated with parallel lines.

Lastly, Topic 8 - Length, Area and Volume, students will solve problems by finding the perimeter and area of plane shapes and composite figures involving quadrilaterals and circles. They will then extend their knowledge to calculating the volume of prisms. 

During Term 3, students will complete Task 3 which contributes to 25% of the students’ overall assessment for the year.
