Year 7 Mathematics Mainstream 

TERM 4, 2026

Students will begin Term 4 continuing with Topic 8 - Length, Area and Volume, where students will solve problems by finding the perimeter and area of plane shapes and composite figures involving quadrilaterals and circles. They will then extend their knowledge to calculating the volume and capacity of prisms. 

In Topic 9 – Probability, students will determine probabilities for chance experiments.

They will also identify and describe theoretical probabilities and relative frequencies.

Lastly, Topic 10 – The Cartesian Plane, students will plot and identify points on the Cartesian plane. They will then extend their knowledge to plotting linear relationships on the Cartesian plane.

During Term 4, students will complete Task 4 which contributes to 25% of the students’ overall assessment for the year.
