Unit 2: The Decline and Fall of the Romanov Dynasty

Rationale: The aim of this topic is for students to develop an understanding of the Decline and Fall of the Romanov Dynasty. They will use a range of historical sources to enhance their knowledge and focus on responding to questions using sources and their own knowledge. This topic will be integral in their understanding of the HSC National Study topic ‘Russia and the Soviet Union 1917–1941’ as it will explain how, in 1917, Russia became a communist country.
