This semester, students primarily focus on developing their spoken communication skills in Italian. The themes of Festivals and Celebrations, as well as Italian Identity, allow them to explore topics such as famous festivities in Italy, music, art, organizing a party, fashion and design in Italy, and Italian brands. Throughout the course, students explore key features of the culture of Italian-speaking communities and deepen their understanding of grammatical structures by comparing Italian and English language systems. Additionally, they are encouraged to expand their vocabulary and reinforce their learning through the online learning tool Education Perfect.

We will achieve this by:
using online resources to complete games and activities as Education Perfect
reading and writing Italian texts that make use of key structures learnt in class
creating role plays and writing texts in Italian that implement the key structures learnt in class
listening and responding to spoken Italian
employing a range of strategies to recall key vocabulary
