Term 3 - The Romantic Period

This unit provides students with an overview of stylistic characteristics of music of the Romantic Period. Students will explore compositional devices representative of these styles of music through performing, composing, listening and researching. The way in which music concepts are utilised by composers is explored through a set work, March to The Scaffold from Symphonie Fantasique by Berlioz. Rehearsal etiquette and solo performance is also a focus of this unit.
