Purpose:  The purpose of PASS is to offer after school academic support that provides additional reinforcement of skills needed for academic success. Support will be available for English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish. 


Dates Offered:  Tuesday and Thursday from February 7th to May 11th


Time:  3:15-4:15 


How do I register my student? Please complete THIS FORM if you would like for your student to attend after school support for Week 7 (March 21st and 23rd). The form will close on March 15th at 5:00PM for Week 6 for any student needing bus transportation (the form will remain open for students that can provide their own transportation). If a student needing bus transportation is NOT registered by the deadline, then BUS TRANSPORTATION WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. 


Please note: Food will not be provided.  If desired, please bring a snack from home.

EARLY RELEASE PROCEDURES:  May 22nd and May 23rd

The JCHS International Club and Spanish Honor Society will be selling artisan bracelets and purses hand-made by individuals from Central America. The money raised will go directly to the "Pulsera Project" which uses the funds to create lasting change in their communities. 

Bracelets are $7 and bags are $15. They will be sold before school and during all lunches.

RESCHEDULED:  We want to be respectful of advisement night at Legacy Knoll and West Jackson Middle School.  As a result, the JaxCo Mountain Bike Team interest meeting will be rescheduled to the week after Spring Break. We will share updated information as soon as possible! Thank you for understanding .

The Jackson County Pantara Yearbook staff is looking for new members to join the 2023-24 staff.  If you enjoy meeting new people, documenting history, and having fun, join us for an interest meeting on March 15th during advisement.  Check in with your advisement teacher before reporting to the meeting.  If you have advisement at Empower, please stop by Mrs. Pitman's room (lower B-hall) for more information.  Come join the fun and help document everything great about Jackson County High School.  

Attention JCHS Student Drivers:

Please be reminded of the importance of driving safely on the JCHS campus. When entering the JCHS roundabout, be sure to enter the roundabout to your right, and drive counterclockwise. Students must follow the correct traffic patterns as indicated by markings and signage in the parking lots. Upon entering the roundabout, please remain mindful of buses and other vehicles that are arriving and exiting the campus. Drivers should be courteous and cautious at all times. The JCHS Campus speed limit is 10 mph. Your safety and the safety of others are of utmost importance.

JCSS will be having a Student Art Show from March 15th - 30th at the Empower College & Career Campus. Opening Reception will be on March 16th from 6-7pm. Artwork from elementary, middle, and high school level students will be on display. 

Come see your favorite dancers shine on stage! Jaxco Dance presents its Spring Showcase Thursday, March 16 at 7 PM. Tickets are just $5 and are sold on GoFan. Seating is general admission and doors open at 6 PM. This is a night of dance you do not want to miss!

Are you fluent in more than one language?  Students interested in taking the test to earn the Seal of Biliteracy should contact Mrs. Hoppe (nhoppe@jcss.us). The test date is March 28.  All payment is due by March 15.  More information about the Seal of Biliteracy is available here

GSBA's Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is now accepting applications for 2023! The YAC is a student leadership program formed by GSBA to give high school students the opportunity to provide meaningful input to school board members and aid them in their decision-making. In addition, YAC members will have the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills and contribute to their community by affecting positive change for students across Georgia. The first round of the application process is open now and will close March 23, 2023. JCHS band visited Williamsburg, VA over the weekend!

JCHS WBL senior, Berkley Hoffman, is a motivated, high-achiever as she has a full load of 2 WBL and 2 class blocks. She works at Jaxco in the AM and the PM at West Jackson ES in the after-school program. Berkley believes these WBL placements help her leadership and communications skills as she aims to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry Studies. She is considering various schools (e.g., Truitt McConnell, Toccoa Falls, Young Harris, & Emmanuel) to identify the best fit. Furthermore, Berkley participates on the swim team and is an FCA leader.

Panther Press Digital Announcements

GIRLS GOLF OPENS SEASON WITH A WIN OVER JEFFERSON

BASEBALL NOW 3-0 IN REGION

Panther Baseball took two games from Gainesville this weekend to move to 3-0 in Region 8-AAAAAA.

The Panthers face Lanier this week, on the road on Wednesday and at home on Friday night.

GREAT WINS FOR PANTHER SOCCER

Our Panther boys and girls soccer teams had great weeks.  

The girls defeated Lanier 5-0, Banks County 10-0, and Shiloh 8-5 to remain unbeaten in region play.  They are currently ranked #10 in Class AAAAAA.

The boys defeated Banks County 7-0 and Shiloh 3-0.  They lost to #2 Lanier 4-1.

TRACK AND FIELD TRAVELS TO STEPHENS COUNTY

Our Panther Track and Field teams performed well at East Jackson this week.  In a 14 school field, the Panther girls took second place, while the boys finished 5th.  Sole Bailey set another school record, this time in the 300m hurdles.

The 2023-2024 JCSS Program of Study is available.  The Jackson County School System has provided the JCSS Program of Study as a planning guide for our families and students to use. The JCSS Program of Study shows the connection between class work and future success, pointing out the relevance of academic learning in the classroom.
