Purpose:  The purpose of PASS is to offer after school academic support that provides additional reinforcement of skills needed for academic success. Support will be available for English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish. 


Dates Offered:  Tuesday and Thursday from February 7th to May 11th


Time:  3:15-4:15 


How do I register my student? Please complete THIS FORM if you would like for your student to attend after school support for Week 9 (April 11th and 13th). The form will close on March 29th at 5:00PM for Week 8 for any student needing bus transportation (the form will remain open for students that can provide their own transportation). If a student needing bus transportation is NOT registered by the deadline, then BUS TRANSPORTATION WILL NOT BE PROVIDED. 


Please note: Food will not be provided.  If desired, please bring a snack from home.

U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff and Georgia’s Congressional Delegation announced that 2023 Military Academy Day will be held on Saturday, April 22, at Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta. 

All attendees must RSVP by Sunday, April 2, 2023. 

High school students and their families are invited to learn more about the application and congressional nomination process for the five U.S. Service Academies — the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy.

Jackson County Special Olympics t-shirts are on sale for $10! All orders are due by Monday, April 3. Middle and high school athletes will compete on April 20, and elementary athletes will compete on April 21 at East Jackson High School. The JCHS Ceramics Classes made use of their beautiful pottery creations for their Third annual Tea Party this week.

This spring, JCHS won second place overall at the region literary tournament, qualifying two state-finalists, Nolan Bell and Morgan Eldridge. Both students competed at the state meet Saturday, and Nolan won third place in the international extemporaneous speaking competition! 

Senior WBL, Hannah Mahoney, received a lesson on cleaning brackets from Dr. Emily Howell’s staff. Upon graduation, Hannah is interested in becoming an orthodontist. Thank you Howell Orthodontics for your continuous support.

Panther Press Digital Announcements

We have SO MANY amazing opportunities and events occurring at JCHS.  The presentation below is a "one-stop-shop" to learn about the "happenings" at JCHS.  We will house all of our digital flyers in this section of the Panther Press each week.  Also, the digital flyers are displayed throughout the school on our Visix boards

CHEER TRYOUTS THIS WEEK

Cheerleading tryouts take place this week, each day from 3:30 to 6:00 in Panther Pavilion.

Those trying out must be academically eligible and have a valid physical on file with the Athletic Department.

LADY PANTHER SOCCER ONE WIN AWAY FROM REGION CHAMPIONSHIP

With a win this Thursday at home vs. Lanier, the Lady Panther soccer team will become Region 8-AAAAAA CHAMPIONS!  Come out and cheer them on to victory!  This would be the 7th Region Championship in the past 12 seasons for our Lady Panthers, and our first in Class AAAAAA.  We were Region 8-AAAAA Champions last season!

PARENT MEETINGS THIS WEEK

GOLF TEAMS TAKE DOWN EAST JACKSON

On Thursday, the Panther Golf teams took on East Jackson.  Both teams scored victories against the Eagles at Traditions of Braselton.  

Low scorers were Anna Holley for the girls and Jackson Taylor for the boys.

TENNIS SECURES STATE PLAYOFF BERTH

Our girls tennis team secured an undefeated regular season in Region 8-AAAAAA with a win over Lanier on Tuesday.  The Lady Panthers will be the #1 seed in the Region Tournament and have secured a place in the state tournament.

The boys also defeated the Longhorns to earn the #3 seed in the Region Tournament.  They will have to defeat Shiloh, who we defeated 5-0 earlier this season, to secure a berth at State.

Counseling Announcements

Jackson County School System leaders proposed new attendance zone lines for the 2023-24, 2024-25 school years. Visit www.jacksonschoolsga.org/schoolzones to view the proposed lines.

The 2023-2024 JCSS Program of Study is available.  The Jackson County School System has provided the JCSS Program of Study as a planning guide for our families and students to use. The JCSS Program of Study shows the connection between class work and future success, pointing out the relevance of academic learning in the classroom.
