AP Exam Registration
AP Exam Registration is LIVE for all students taking AP courses in the spring of 2024!!
Students must complete the two-step registration and payment process by March 1st at 11:59 PM.
After 12:01 AM on March 2, 2024 students will be charged a late fee of $ 40.00 per exam.
Parents and students can locate the AP testing exam schedule, AP Spring Testing Letter, and link to the Total Registration website at our JCHS AP web page.
Any student having trouble accessing their College Board account may contact the College Board directly by calling 1-866-315-6068.

EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY
High school seniors with an A average in the course will be exempt from the final exam for that course. Students in grades 9-11 may not exempt final exams.
A final exam does NOT include an EOC, EOPA, or other mandated test.
Students and parents/guardians will be notified in advance if a student is exempt from a final exam.

MLK Day
The Jackson County School System will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr Day on Monday, January 15. Students and staff will return on Tuesday, January 16.
National Mentoring Month
January is National Mentoring Month and The Jackson County School System would like to acknowledge the partnership between Legacy Youth Mentoring Program and JCSS. There are currently 174 mentors serving 190 students in our school system. Advisement Night
Advisement Night will provide an opportunity for parents to schedule a meeting with their student's advisor to register for courses for the 24/25 school year.
Parents/Guardians may schedule a 15-minute meeting with their student's advisor to review their student's selected course options or ask questions. Advisors have contacted all parents/guardians with directions about how to schedule a meeting. Please note that an appointment is required to meet with your student's advisor during Advisement Night.
In addition, informational sessions about Empower courses, AP courses, and the IB Programme will occur in the JCHS Cafeteria. Please stop by the Cafeteria at your convenience to speak with representatives from these programs.
Disney Showcase
Come join us for a night of magic and talent at our DISNEY showcase! Admission is $5 per person and all proceeds will go to our Disney trip in the spring! There will also be a donation jar in the lobby and all donations will go to the trip as well.

IB Applications
We are currently accepting applications for students who wish to participate in the full IB Diploma Program as juniors and seniors. To learn more about the IB diploma program, please review our school’s IB website as well as the official IBO Diploma Parent Pack.
Any 10th grade students interested must complete the application this year. 9th grade students who are interested are also encouraged to apply now in order to ensure their 10th grade schedules prepare them for success in the IB program. (Please note, students are welcome to take 1-3 IB courses without applying to and participating in the full Diploma Program.)

JCSS Career Fair
The Jackson County School System will be hosting a Career Fair on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Empower College and Career Center. Positions available include: K-12 Teachers, Special Education Teachers, Paraprofessionals, School Food Nutrition, Transportation, Custodial, Student Support Services and Facilities and Maintenance!

Adapted PE
This week at Jackson County High School, our adapted PE classes enjoyed improving their tennis skills. We extend our gratitude to USTA for their donation of adaptive tennis equipment!

JCHS Senior, Marley Grounds is a teaching apprentice with Ms. Taylor Nix at West Jackson Elementary School. She has WBL in the morning to balance with her extracurricular after school activities. Marley is excited to be heading to Texas Tech University after graduation.

NACAC National College Fair
We are excited to share that a National College Fair is coming to our area later this month. NACAC college fairs provide an opportunity for students and families to be exposed to a wide array of colleges and universities in one location.
The NACAC National College Fair – Atlanta will be held on Sunday, January 21st from 1pm – 4pm ET at the Georgia International Convention Center.
Over 160 colleges and universities from across the United States and the globe will be ready and waiting to speak with students. Students and parents may register for FREE here. Informational sessions will also be offered during the event and that schedule can be found here.
Dual Enrollment
Attention Sophomore and Juniors:
If you are interested in applying for Dual Enrollment for next school year please see the graphic below for some information on getting started.
Please know that even if you intend to Dual Enroll next year, you still must select 8 classes + 3 alternative classes that are all offered at the high school level during the class registration that you are completing in your advisement classes right now. **Students should check their GPAs using their GaFutures.org account.** To complete the Appointment Request form, you must be signed into your JCHS Google account

Shorten the time you spend getting your college degree
Get credit for High School and College classes at the same time
Freedom to do college classes online, in-person on a college campus, and/or in-person at the Empower campus.

BOYS WRESTLING REGION RUNNERS UP
For the second consecutive year, our boys wrestling program finished Region 8-AAAAAA runners up in duals competition. They will move to STATE next weekend at North Forsyth High School.

CONGRATS COACH LECOEUVRE
Coach Joel Lecoeuvre reached a huge milestone earlier this season, winning his 200th game overall as a head basketball coach.
The win came over Franklin County.
