EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY
High school seniors with an A average in the course will be exempt from the final exam for that course. Students in grades 9-11 may not exempt final exams.
A final exam does NOT include an EOC, EOPA, or other mandated test.
Students and parents/guardians will be notified in advance if a student is exempt from a final exam.

Key Club Thirst Project
Panthers, our last Master Key Competition of the year will be held March 25-29th! Key Club is donating funds to the Thirst Project which brings fresh water to communities in 3rd world countries. Just $1 can provide clean water for 2 people for one year! And $25 can provide clean water for one person for LIFE! Can you imagine not having clean water? Donate during advisement to help bring clean water to these communities!

Schramm Signing Celebration
Please join us in the auditorium for Louie Schramm's signing celebration on March 25th at 3:30 PM in the JCHS Auditorium. He will be signing with Piedmont University for Mountain Biking and is the first in Jaxco history.

Attention Students: If you will be obtaining your learner's permit or driver's license over Spring Break, please be sure you request your Certificate of School Enrollment by Thursday, March 28th. Please be sure all Certificate of School Enrollments are picked up in the front office before you leave on Friday, March 29th.

Jaxco International Festival
The International Festival is a yearly celebration held by the International Club on April 19, 2024 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm for students and members of Jackson County to share and embrace our beautiful cultures through booths, food, clothing, dances, songs, games, etc. We wish for everybody to join us in honoring our diverse population! Students not members of the International Club attending Jackson County High School Or Empower College and Career Center are welcome to participate in our events. Please fill out this form and turn it into the folder outside of Mrs.Okelley’s office on Upper B hall OR email a copy to dokelley@jcss.us.
GSBA's Youth Advisory Council Application Deadline
The Georgia School Board Association's Youth Advisory Council is a prestigious student leadership program established by GSBA to empower high school students with the chance to provide valuable insights to school board members and assist them in their decision-making processes.

Get ready for an unforgettable night at the 2024 Prom! Tickets will be on sale for $50.00 per person beginning Monday, March 25th. Please refer to the chart for ticket sales dates and times.
Juniors who purchase a ticket will receive a complimentary ticket for their senior year. Please note that all tickets must be purchased with cash or checks.

We are excited to announce the Jackson County High School 7 Mindset Heroes, Jordan Griffin, and Ms. Hali Chase! Their unwavering commitment to the principle of "Live to Give" sets an inspiring example for us all.
Ms. Chase makes decisions and takes action to help build a sense of community in our school. She stretched herself this year by taking ownership of IB Spanish B. She has taken the opportunity to leave a positive legacy through coaching cheerleading. She is always willing to help her students and do what's best for them.
Jordan Griffin is always kind to others and has a calm and gentle presence about him. He works hard and perseveres in his classes and makes a positive impact on those around him.

National Speech and Debate Association Virtual Competition
Astrada Rogers and Parker Todd showcased their talents in the National Speech and Debate Association virtual competition, known as the Springboard Series, on March 19th. Both students participated in the Rising Stars Original Oratory event, delivering captivating 10-minute memorized speeches on topics of their choice. Their outstanding achievements reflect positively on Jackson County High School within the Speech and Debate community. We commend Astrada and Parker for their exceptional representation and dedication.
Jaxco Student Appreciation Day
Jackson County High School made March 20, an extra special day for its students with Student Appreciation Day. Upon arrival, students were greeted with compliment cards, enjoyed free entry to the baseball game later in the evening, and those with zero missing assignments were treated to ice cream—a gesture aimed at recognizing and valuing their efforts within the school community.
JCSS Senior Spotlight
Jackson County High School's Silas Gillespie discusses the different avenues students can explore at JCHS and how the organizations and athletic teams he was a part of during his time as a student have shaped him. Gillespie also talks about his future plans to attend college and a potential career as a movie producer.
Student Chef Competition
We are incredibly proud of our Jackson County High School students for their remarkable participation in the Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Division’s Student Chef Competition. Teams from across the state showcased student-developed recipes with locally sourced Georgia ingredients, aligning with educational standards. The team of Amari Taylor, Melanie Gomez, and Kyan Rivera led the charge, advancing to the prestigious state level. This competition encompassed recipe development and cooking demonstrations, fostering collaboration between students and School Nutrition Professionals. Congratulations to these JCHS students on their outstanding achievement!
Work-Based Learning Spotlight
JCHS Senior Welsey Christiansen works as a Dietitian Aide at the Manor Lakes Hoschton location for Work-Based Learning. Wesley took the CTAE Healthcare pathway and WBL because he wanted to gain valuable experience related to his career interests. Wesley will attend Kennesaw State University and major in Nursing.
