JCHS Student Drivers: January is Teen Driving Awareness Month.  Please be reminded of the importance of driving safely as you travel to and from JCHS each day.  Your safety and the safety of others are of utmost importance and it is vital that each of you give your full attention and drive with caution to and from campus.  On days when the weather or traffic is not ideal, such as a day with rain, snow, or road backups, we ask that you take even greater precautions and drive with patience, attention, and care as you travel to and from campus. Also, please remember to wear your seatbelt.

Please visit the JCHS Panther Players Instagram page or contact Ms. Emily Taylor for additional information!

We are appreciative of your kindness during this holiday season to make the Angel Giving Tree a success. It was amazing to see the outpouring of support for our local families. Faculty donations combined with private donors allowed us the opportunity to sponsor 6 families and provide gifts to 14 students in our community. We are thankful for your generosity to give these students an amazing holiday. Go Panthers!

The JCHS Environmental Club volunteered at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia at the University of Georgia in Athens for their Winter WonderLights

The winter light show, presented by the UGA Office of the President, followed a half-mile fully accessible trail down Candy Cane Lane, past creatures stirring and shimmering snowflakes, through a tunnel of multicolored lights, through a cone tree forest and into a holiday market.

Congratulations to JCHS Juniors Ryker Brownfield and Nathan David for earning a job a Kubota Industries Equipment Corporation in Jefferson.  Kubota is a fantastic industry partner and a great opportunity for students to learn hard and soft skills.

Wesley Markel, JCHS Junior, works two jobs for WBL. One is at Christ Place Church, which has over 5,000 members. That size church needs lots of I.T. support, and that’s where Wesley supports the servers, tickets, and various hardware needs.

JAXCO HOLIDAY HOOPFEST

JAXCO HOOPS Hosted the inaugural HOLIDAY HOOPFEST Tournament over the break.  Eight girls teams and eight boys teams competed over three days.

Our boys got a nice win over Monsignor Donovan and almost pulled off an upset against Jasper County.

Our girls beat Jasper County 63-12, and lost by 4 to a scrappy Monroe Area team.

Overall, it was a successful and productive winter break for our teams.
