EOC testing begins this week!
This week kicks off EOC testing. If you're in American Literature, get ready! On Thursday, May 2nd, it's Section 1 at 8:00 AM, and on Friday, May 3rd, Sections 2 & 3 also at 8:00 AM. Don't forget to bring your fully charged Chromebooks!
Advanced Placement Testing Information
In preparing for your upcoming AP exam, below you will find some critical information about AP testing. It is important that all students follow the testing procedures outlined by the College Board. Please do not hesitate to contact any AP teacher, the College Board website, or Mr. Bachman (bbachman@jcss.us) if you have any questions. Please plan to arrive at your testing location NO LATER than 7:25 am (morning session) or 11:15 am (afternoon session) on the day of your exam.

Summer School
Please review the enclosed details regarding the Summer Success Program offered by Jackson County High School. The primary objective of this program is to assist students in recuperating credits, thereby enabling them to progress towards graduation.
Library Books Due
Attention Students: Please return materials or settle fines for lost/damaged books by Friday, May 3rd. Overdue notices are sent weekly via email; please ensure you check yours. Feel free to visit the Library Learning Commons with any questions.

Jaxco Dance Spring Recital
Join Jaxco Dance as we dance our way into summer! Tickets are on Go Fan or can be purchased at the door! Faculty/staff are FREE with a badge! We will have senior recognition, NHSDA induction, and a HUGE company production piece featuring ALL 54 Jaxco Dancers! This is a night you do not want to miss!

Medication Pick Up
Reminder, if your student has medication inside our school clinic, that medication must be picked up no later than 3 p.m. on the final day of school, May 21. Any medication not picked up prior to the deadline will be disposed of through proper channels by school personnel.
Important End-of-Year Exam Information
Dear JCHS Parents, Guardians, and Students,
As we approach the final weeks of the second semester at Jackson County High School, we would like to share some important reminders about exams:
Early Exams: Please note that no early exams will be administered, so ensure you are present on the scheduled exam days.
Check-Out Policy: During exam periods, no check-outs will be allowed. Please plan accordingly.
No Early Release: We will not have early release on exam days. We will follow our regular schedule on May 20 and May 21.
Absences: If a student is absent for a scheduled exam, a grade of zero will be entered into the Infinite Campus system until the exam is made up.
Final Exam Exemption: Seniors with a weighted A average in the course will be exempt from the final exam for that course. Students in grades 9-11 may not exempt final exams. Students and parents/guardians will be notified in advance if a student is exempt from a final exam. Underclassman are not eligible for early release.
GMAS Calculator Information: Due to changes in Georgia Milestones Assessment procedures, 6th-12th grade students inside the Jackson County School System will be provided with a handheld scientific calculator on GMAS Math and Physical Science tests, in addition to the online calculator provided within the testing platform. Students will not be allowed to bring their personal calculators for these exams.
Chromebooks: Students should bring their fully charged Chromebooks for all testing.
Senior Final Exam dates are Tuesday, May 14th, and Wednesday, May 15th. Final Exam dates for 9th-11th grades are Monday, May 20th, and Tuesday, May 21st. Please take a moment to review the complete Semester 2 Exam schedule. We strongly encourage seniors to carefully examine the exam exemption policy.

Student Appreciation Day
Last Wednesday we celebrated another fabulous Student Appreciation Day at Jackson County High School! Students were greeted by JSLT members with music and candy. There was school-wide trivia at the beginning of each class for Chick-fil-A. Students received snacks for passing all of their classes and had lunch outside with cornhole as well! Another great day to be a Panther! #ProudtobeJC

Work-Based Learning Spotlight
Bryce Bennett, JCHS junior, has Work-Based Learning at New South Diesel for his fourth block. Bryce completed the Ag. Mechanics & Technology CTAE pathway and plans to continue WBL as a senior. His post graduate plan is diesel mechanics at technical college and a career is this field. His long term goal is opening his own shop as an entrepreneur.

Important: Transfer Google Drive and Gmail Contents
It's important to transfer all your files from Google Drive and emails from Gmail to your personal Google account by Friday, May 31st. After this date, your school accounts will be deactivated, and you risk losing access to your important documents and emails.
To ensure a smooth transition, please adhere to the following instructions to copy your Google Drive contents and Gmail emails to your personal account.
If you encounter any difficulties or need assistance, feel free to visit the Library Learning Commons where Mrs. Weldon will be available to help you.
Senior Awards Night
Senior Awards Day is this Tuesday, April 30th. This is an invitation-only event. Please check your email inbox for the invitation sent on Monday, April 15th. We look forward to celebrating your achievements together.
Modern Language Pathway Cord
To earn a Modern Language Pathway Cord students must have:
an unweighted average of 85 or higher in three classes of the same language
If you think you are eligible for a Modern Language Pathway cord and wish to purchase a cord:
Bring a copy of your transcript to a JCHS Modern Language teacher
The cost of the cord is $5.00 and you may pay using Schoolpay.
The deadline to order the cord is 11:59pm Thursday, May 2, 2024.
*Note: This cord is different from those awarded by Spanish Honor Society and French Honor Society.
