AP Exam Registration
AP Exam Registration is LIVE for all students taking AP courses in the spring of 2024!!
Students must complete the two-step registration and payment process by March 1st at 11:59 PM.
After 12:01 AM on March 2, 2024 students will be charged a late fee of $ 40.00 per exam.
Parents and students can locate the AP testing exam schedule, AP Spring Testing Letter, and link to the Total Registration website at our JCHS AP web page.
Any student having trouble accessing their College Board account may contact the College Board directly by calling 1-866-315-6068.

EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY
High school seniors with an A average in the course will be exempt from the final exam for that course. Students in grades 9-11 may not exempt final exams.
A final exam does NOT include an EOC, EOPA, or other mandated test.
Students and parents/guardians will be notified in advance if a student is exempt from a final exam.

Camp Logistics
JCHS Students are invited to participate in the FREE 5-day Camp Logistics this summer from June 24-28, 2024, at the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega. It is designed to encourage students to consider one of the most in-demand careers in North Georgia – Logistics.
Each Camp Day during the mornings, students will learn about Logistics, listen to experts from the industry, and complete hands-on activities. Lunch is provided free of charge. During the afternoons, the students will go on field trips to Logistics companies such as Kubota, Kings Hawaiian, Syfan Logistics, etc. to witness Logistics in action. The Camp is sponsored by the University of North Georgia and Syfan Logistics. Your students will find this short Camp to be beneficial as they decide their life beyond high school. Select students will also have an opportunity to explore an internship with Syfan Logistics.

Dance Team Tryout Clinics
Anyone interested in trying out for the dance team next year is encouraged to come to our prep clinic on Tuesday, February 13 from 3:15-4:30 in the dance studio. All levels are welcome. This is a great time to practice your turns, leaps, and jazz technique. Please see Mrs. Ware with any questions!
Candy Grams Fundraiser
Students: Stop by the concession stand February 5th-13th in the mornings to buy a CANDYGRAM for your friend, peer, valentine, or teacher! Each candygram consists of one personalized note and one lollipop which will be hand delivered to the receiver’s advisement class! Additionally, each candygram purchased will enter the buyer’s name into a raffle to win a FREE ticket to the Jackson County Panther Player’s production of Mean Girls in April! Winners will be announced after the fundraiser!

Celebrate Black History Month
Jackson County High School is commemorating Black History Month with an exhibit in the Library Learning Commons. Students and staff have the opportunity to scan QR codes to discover more about renowned Black Americans and their contributions. Additionally, they can select from a collection of books authored by Black writers and those detailing the achievements of notable Black figures in contemporary history. Don't miss out on this enriching opportunity to celebrate and learn about the profound impact of Black history on our world.

Governor’s Honors Program Semifinalists
Four Jackson County High School students advance in the highly competitive and prestigious Georgia Governor’s Honors Program.
This program offers rigorous summer instruction for high school students who demonstrate excellence in various fields. These semifinalists will undergo further evaluation, and if chosen as finalists, they will have the opportunity to attend a four-week summer program at Georgia Southern University.
Jackson County High School wishes these talented students well as they continue the selection process!
Georgia Thespian Conference
What an amazing weekend for Jackson County High School Theatre! We're so proud of our students! At the Georgia Thespian conference, among 5,500 high school theatre enthusiasts from across the state, our cast of The Mad Ones was chosen out of 60 entries to perform. Plus, Georgia Lance was one of just ten chosen from over 500 entries for the Linda P. Wise closing showcase! And a big shout-out to Stevie Whit for winning the Dwight Gilstrap Technical Theatre Scholarship worth $2,000! These are huge milestones for us – the first time in our school's history to achieve such honors! Keep up the fantastic work, Jackson County High School Theatre!
Poetry Out Loud Regional Competition
Congratulations to Carmen Tettekpoe for her 3rd place finish in the Poetry Out Loud Regional Competition in Ellijay! With style and skill, Carmen represented Jackson County High School, showcasing her remarkable talent and unwavering commitment to poetry. Let's celebrate Carmen's achievement and her remarkable contribution to our school's literary legacy!
Jackson County Community Outreach Scholarships
Each year the Jackson County Community Outreach awards scholarships to deserving high school students planning to attend college and technical schools. These scholarships are awarded, exclusively, to seniors who attend high schools in Jackson County. The breakdown of scholarships is listed below:
JCCO TRADITIONAL Scholarship ($1000 each) – students at each high school have the opportunity to receive this scholarship, provided that they meet the criteria, through the application and interview process.
JCCO TECHNICAL Scholarship ($2000 each) – To qualify for consideration for the Technical Scholarship, the applicant must commit to an associate’s degree or 18-month diploma, and choose among high-demand pathways such as robotics, robotic welding, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, engineering, machine tool technology, logistics & supply chain management, medical assisting, health management technology, operations management, drafting technology, construction management, and cybersecurity.
TOM LEWIS LEADERSHIP Scholarship ($1500) – One student will receive this scholarship by meeting the criteria for the JCCO scholarship, and showing evidence of leadership in school, community, and or church activities.
JIM SCOTT VISIONARY Scholarship ($2500) – One student will receive this scholarship by meeting the criteria for the JCCO scholarship, and showing evidence of leadership and service to others (volunteering, community service) through school, community, and or church activities.
To qualify for any of these scholarships, students must show evidence of:
a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5
school/community involvement
need for financial assistance
Willingness to participate in an interview, if selected to move forward

The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture strives to provide students with an opportunity for success as they pursue agriculture-related courses of study. There are several scholarship opportunities available to students, each with varying criteria and eligibility requirements

Class of 2024 Senior Meetings
Seniors and Senior Parents,
Congratulations to the Class of 2024! Graduation is approaching! Graduation will be held on May 18th at 10 AM at Panther Stadium. As we prepare to celebrate the Class of 2024's accomplishments, we will host two meetings: one for the students during advisement on March 6th and one for the parents of seniors on the evening of March 6th. Details about each meeting are below:
Senior Students Meeting

Time: during advisement (11:00-30). Empower buses will arrive and depart in time for the meeting

Meeting will cover essential information about graduation and senior week

Cap and Gown Order Deadline
Cap and Gown Packages MUST be ordered from Scholastic Images. Seniors can order in-person at JCHS during lunch on Thursday, March 7th or online at www.scholasticimages.com.
Cap and Gown packages include the graduation attire (cap, gown, stole, and tassel. In addition, the package pay for the diploma, diploma cover, graduation program, the costs for graduation, , and other senior activities (which will occur throughout the 2023-2024 school year).
Cap and gown packages MUST be ordered by MARCH 1st to avoid incurring a late charge.
Cap and Gown packages will be distributed on Friday, April 19th. Please pick up your cap and gown during all lunches at JCHS. Cap and gown MUST be ordered through scholastic images. You can order at www.scholasticimages.com. If you are unable to pick up your gown on the 19th during lunch, you will be able to pick up your gown in the front office.
