Purpose: To offer after school academic support that provides additional reinforcement of skills needed for academic success. Support will be available for English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Dates Offered: Tuesday and Thursday from September 20th to December 8th
Time: 3:15-4:15
How do I register my student? Please complete THIS FORM if you would like for your student to attend after school support for Week 5 (October 24-28). The form will close on October 19th at 5:00PM for Week 5 (the form will remain open for students that can provide their own transportation). If a student needing bus transportation is NOT registered by the deadline, then BUS TRANSPORTATION WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.
Please note: Food will not be provided. If desired, please bring a snack from home.
Advanced Placement Courses (AP) Exam Registration is LIVE
For students enrolled in AP courses, registration for 1st Semester AP exams is now available through Total Registration. Parents and students can locate the AP testing exam schedule, AP Informational Letter, and link to the Total Registration website at our JCHS AP web page.
Students must be registered and paid in full on Total Registration by November 1st.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam Registration is LIVE
For students enrolled in IB courses, registration is available for IB exams through Total Registration. Parents and students can locate the IB testing exam schedule, IB Informational Letter, and link to the Total Registration website at our JCHS IB web page.
Students must be registered and paid in full on Total Registration by November 1st.

The JCHS Chorus will present their fall concert on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 pm in the JCHS Auditorium. Please come support your Panther Singers in their first concert of the year! Free admission!
JAXCO Mountain Bike Team: Come out and support the Mountain Bike Team at its final regular season race on October 22nd at Road Atlanta. Racing starts at 8am and parking is $7 at the entrance.
IMPORTANT EXAM NOTES
ALL EOC TESTING WILL OCCUR ON THE JCHS CAMPUS. Students testing for EOC exams that normally attend EMPOWER in the mornings will need to remain on the JCHS campus to take their exam.
NO early exams will be administered
NO check-outs are allowed during exams

FINAL EXAMS: EXEMPTION POLICY
In order to earn an exam exemption in a class, the student must have an A (weighted average) in the course.
A final exam does NOT include an EOC, EOPA, or other mandated test.
Students and parents/guardians will be notified in advance if a student is exempt from a final exam.
EARLY RELEASE PROCEDURES: December 19th and 20th
Car riders and students who drive may leave campus at 10:55
Lunch: 10:55-11:20 (all students) with a release to buses at 11:20

JCHS WBL student, Samantha Kinney, works at Outdoor Environments in Braselton. Samantha says, "Floral Design has been a great help in identifying the plants around work and learning how to arrange plants into pots. My hope is to become an Architectural landscaper. Work-Based Learning has been an amazing opportunity for me to get experience and knowledge about landscaping."

Students in Mr. Lockard and Ms. Barnhill's classes are working on Charity Creations. They have created their own charities and using Ethos, Pathos, and Logos Rhetoric to create advertisements to gain donations.
The Passion First Mindset teaches us that we are all individuals and that it is important we spend time on those things we do well and that make us feel fulfilled. Ohla Mishchenko and Jason Powers were selected as Mindset Heroes for representing the Passion First Mindset at Jackson County High School.
We have SO MANY amazing opportunities and events occurring at JCHS. The digital flyer carousel below is a "one-stop-shop" to learn about the "happenings" at JCHS. We will house all of our digital flyers in this section of the Panther Press each week. Also, the digital flyers are displayed throughout the school on our Visix boards.

FOOTBALL THEME VS. LANIER
VOLLEYBALL = REGION CHAMPIONS
Panther Volleyball posted one of the most dramatic, come from behind wins in school history last Thursday, defeating North Forsyth in five sets to become the Region 8-AAAAAA CHAMPIONS! They are 35-3 on the season and host Johns Creek this Wednesday at HOME. BE THERE, PANTHER NATION!
SENIOR NIGHT THIS WEEK
Varsity Football will host the Lanier Longhorns this week for SENIOR NIGHT at Panther Stadium. If we win, we qualify for the Class AAAAAA State Playoffs! Show up and be LOUD Friday Night!
CROSS COUNTRY REGION CHAMPIONSHIP THIS WEEK
Our JAXCO Cross Country teams will compete in the Region 8-AAAAAA Championships this Saturday at Apalachee. A top four team finish would qualify the Panthers for the AAAAAA State Meet in Carrollton. Run Fast, Panthers!
BIG REGION WINS FOR SOFTBALL
Panther Softball HAD to win last week, and they came through in a BIG WAY. They took two games from Lanier and clinched a STATE PLAYOFF BERTH in our first year in Class AAAAAA. They travel to Pope HS this Tuesday for the Super Regionals.

On October 4th, the 9th grade counselors--Mrs. Wittman and Ms. Buwick--hosted "Cookies with Counselors". Ninth grade students were invited to talk with their counselors, answer fun icebreaker questions, and grab a delicious cookie! Ms. Buwick and Mrs. Wittman loved getting to visit many of our newest Panthers!

Mr. Reeves is a 1997 graduate of Duluth High School where he was an all-state catcher for the baseball team.
After high school, Mr. Reeves attended Dekalb College, where he played 2 years of college baseball, earning spot in the Junior College World Series his freshman year. After Dekalb college, Mr. Reeves continued his baseball career at Jacksonville University, in Jacksonville, Florida
In the fall of 2000, Mr. Reeves transferred to the University of Georgia, where he finished his degree in communications.
Mr. Reeves went to work at Meadowcreek High School in Gwinnett County as the head baseball coach in 2004.
Mr. Reeves served as the head baseball coach at Meadowcreek High School for 8 seasons. After leaving Meadowcreek, Mr. Reeves taught and coached baseball at Lanier High School for 9 years.
Mr. Reeves earned his masters degree in 2007 from Grand Canyon University and is currently on-track to graduate with his specialist degree from the University of West Georgia in December of 2022.
Mr. Reeves has been married to his wonderful wife for 12 years. They have 3 sons who keep them busy with sports and church.
Mrs. Richardson graduated from Parkview High School in 2010. She attended Jacksonville State University and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in 2016 and her Master's Degree in 2021. She has 7 years of teaching experience in a variety of subjects: Health/PE, 8th Grade Science, and Social Studies. Mrs. Richardson has coaching and judging experience. She is married to Mr. Richardson (a JCHS Math teacher). Mrs. Richardson has 2 fur babies named Charli and Marley.
Mr. Rouse is thrilled to begin his 10th year in education at JCHS. Mr. Rouse grew up in the Macon, Georgia area where he obtained degrees from Gordon College, Mercer University, and several years later from the University of Cincinnati. His education career began as the Testing Coordinator for Middle Georgia State College. From there he joined the staff at Howard High School in Macon where he began teaching regular, honors, and advanced placement American Government courses and later served as the Social Studies department chair. While serving at Howard he decided to use his Special Education certification and inclusion experience and joined the Special Education department. He has also served as the varsity girls soccer coach, assistant varsity baseball coach, school community-council representative, AP testing Coordinator, and football/graduation public address announcer. His family recently relocated to the northeast Georgia area. As he begins his first year in the Special Education department at Jackson County High School, he is proud to be a Panther!
His wife, Amy, works for Jackson EMC in Jefferson, Georgia and he has two children, Chase (16) and Stevey Joy (12). Mr. Rouse enjoys spending time with his family, working-out, and riding his John Deere tractor.
