What a great night it was for our Panther Preview on Thursday! Thank you to all the families of rising 9th graders and those new to JCHS who came out to get a preview of the upcoming school year
Open House
Open House is Tuesday, August 1st.
5:00-6:30 PM: 9th and 12th Grade

Students can access their new class schedules in Infinite Campus. Steps to find your schedule can be found below. Printed schedules will not be available at Open House.

School Clinic Update
The Jackson County School System will no longer be offering over-the-counter medications to students beginning in the 2023-24 school year.
Medications including Ibuprofen, Tylenol, Pepto Bismol, Tums and Benadryl will no longer be offered.
If your student(s) will require these medications during school hours, the medication must be brought to the school and registered into the clinic by a parent/guardian.
No medications should be kept in a student’s possession while at school without a physician’s approval and note.
In addition, Nurse Gee will be present at Open House should parents have questions.
Congratulations to Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum, who last night was named the 2023 Georgia Sheriff of the Year. The Jackson County School System would like to thank Sheriff Mangum for her continued partnership with our school system, as the Sheriff's Department supplies JCSS with school resource officers dedicated to the safety and security of our students and staff.

Please note: to increase student and driver safety on school buses, the Jackson County School System has increased the number of community bus stops throughout the system.

Registration Update
A reminder! Families seeking to register a new student(s) will not be able to do so at an Open House event on August 1. Please visit our Central Registration, located at 1668 Winder Highway, Jefferson to register all new incoming students! Central Registration is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.! Registration can also be completed online at this link.
Community Event
Is your student in need of a book bag and school supplies for the upcoming school year? The Jackson County School System will be hosting a Book Bag and School Supply Giveaway Tuesday, August 1 at the Empower College and Career Center. The giveaway will take place between the hours of 8-10 a.m. and 12-2 p.m. inside the gymnasium lobby. Book bags will be filled with school supplies for different grade levels. One book bag per student. JCSS would like to thank our sponsors Williams-Sonoma, Inc. and Bethlehem Church!

Update Your Student(s) Transportation Tab on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal
In an effort to become more efficient with our transportation and provide more information for our families, the Jackson County School System is preparing to launch the "Here Comes the Bus" mobile application. This application will allow for families to track their student(s) bus routes in the morning and afternoon.
In order for this application to be most accurate, the Jackson County School System needs your help in ensuring each student's transportation information is up-to-date.

HOLLEY WINS AT NJGA
HOSCHTON — Jackson County High School's Anna Holley fired a final round 73 to win the National Junior Golf Association's Junior Showcase at the University of Georgia Course and the Georgia Club in Athens. The event was a four-day tournament.
Holley posted three birdies in her final round, including one on the final hole of the tournament, a 369-yard Par-4.
Holley, a junior this school year, finished in ninth place at the GHSA Class 6A State Championship at the Jekyll Island Golf Club in May.
