How do I register my student? Please complete THIS FORM if you would like for your student to attend after school support on December 13th. The window to request bus transportation is closed; however, the form will remain open for students that can provide their own transportation.

NO early exams will be administered
NO check-outs are allowed during exams

FINAL EXAMS: EXEMPTION POLICY
In order to earn an exam exemption in a class, the student must have an A (weighted average) in the course.
A final exam does NOT include an EOC, EOPA, or other mandated assessment.
Students and parents/guardians will be notified in advance if a student is exempt from a final exam.

JCHS EXAM EXEMPTION INFO: Your student will receive prior notification if they are exempt from any JCHS Final Exams administered on December 19th & 20th. By Friday (December 16th), students will receive a notification form on PINK paper indicating exam exemption per course and confirmed by a Teacher Signature. Students will not be counted absent on Monday, December 19th and Tuesday, December 20th if exempted from an exam.

JCHS Student Drivers: Please be reminded of the importance of driving safely as you travel to and from JCHS each day. Your safety and the safety of others are of utmost importance and it is vital that each of you give your full attention and drive with caution to and from campus. On days when the weather or traffic is not ideal, such as a day with rain, snow, or road backups, we ask that you take even greater precautions and drive with patience, attention, and care as you travel to and from campus. Also, please remember to wear your seatbelt.

If you will be obtaining your learner's permit or driver's license over the Christmas Break, please be sure you request your Certificate of School Enrollment on or before Friday, December 16th. JCHS Panther Baseball is hosting a Youth Winter Hitting Clinic on December 17, 2022! The camp will be broken down into two sessions based on age. However, due to any possible schedule conflicts with REC basketball games, we can allow for times that work best with schedules. The camp will be hosted by JCHS Varsity coaches, JCHS high school baseball players, and former JCHS players playing at the collegiate level. CLICK HERE for more information!
Jackson Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) is accepting applications for the annual Washington Youth Tour, sponsored by the nation’s electric cooperatives. Jackson EMC will send four student delegates on an all-expense paid leadership development experience to Washington, D.C., June 15-22, 2023.
Current high school sophomores and juniors in the Jackson EMC service region who have demonstrated leadership potential, academic success and community service may apply directly online HERE. Applications must be received at Jackson EMC by 5:00 p.m. on January 31, 2023.
Finalists will interview on Feb. 20, 2023, with a panel of business, community and university leaders to be one of Jackson EMC’s four delegates to receive the Washington Youth Tour leadership experience.
Hot off the Press! The 2023-2024 JCSS Program of Study is now available. The Jackson County School System has provided the JCSS Program of Study as a planning guide for our families and students to use. The JCSS Program of Study shows the connection between class work and future success, pointing out the relevance of academic learning in the classroom.
We recommend that families sit together each year, read through the many opportunities available, and map the sequence of future classes that your student(s) need to take in order to achieve their learning goals. You can mark your choices in the Graduation Guide section as you go through school and as your career decisions may change and evolve. If you have questions or want to request more guidance, please contact your school guidance counselor.

Jillian Spooner is in her second year of Work Based Learning (WBL) through Jackson County HS, working at Our House Braselton (a.k.a. Pets Inn Suites). In addition, Jillian is finishing her second CTAE pathway, Family & Consumer Sciences, along with Healthcare Sciences. Her career aspiration is to help diabetics with diet, care, and quality of life as a Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). She enjoys her WBL experience with the various dogs and cats, where she gets to train and care for them. Jillian is also pursuing golf as an option in college.

We have SO MANY amazing opportunities and events occurring at JCHS. The presentation below is a "one-stop-shop" to learn about the "happenings" at JCHS. We will house all of our digital flyers in this section of the Panther Press each week. Also, the digital flyers are displayed throughout the school on our Visix boards.
BASKETBALL WORKING HARD
Our JV Girls got a big win over Flowery Branch this week. Both JV teams and both varsity teams are on the road to Franklin County this Friday night. On Wednesday, our girls program headed over to WJMS to support our middle school team in a BIG WIN.
WRESTLING DOMINATES THANKSGIVING
The Varsity Boys headed to Tennessee this weekend for a extremely competitive tournament in Chattanooga. The team did exceptionally well, placing 7th. Five individual Panther wrestlers placed in the event as well
The Lady Panther Invitational/JV Invitational was a huge success at home this weekend. The Lady Panthers finished 3rd, despite only having 4 entrants in the event. 3 of our 4 girls placed.

ALL REGION ALL ACADEMIC TEAMS
THIRTY FIVE Panthers were recently honored as All Region, All Academic Team members for fall sports! Those selected had a 3.8 GPA or better and lettered in a fall sport this year!
SWIM CATS UPDATE
The SwimCats competed at Frances Meadows in Gainesville for the Flowery Branch Invitational. The team came in 6th place out of 11 schools, with several individual accomplishments.
Desi Quiles broke the JCHS record in the 500m Free with a 5:52.

FOUR PANTHERS SELECTED TO FCA ALL STAR GAME
Seniors (L to R) Michael Thurmond, Markel Oliver, Riley Konarski, and Jesse Combs will participate in the FCA East/West All Star Game on Monday night of this week. This is a great showcase of some of the best senior football players in the area.

These scholarships are awarded, exclusively, to seniors who attend high schools in any of the three school systems in Jackson County. The breakdown of scholarships is listed below:
JCCO TRADITIONAL Scholarship ($1000 each)
JCCO TECHNICAL Scholarship ($2000 each)
TOM LEWIS LEADERSHIP Scholarship ($1500)
JIM SCOTT VISIONARY Scholarship ($2500) .
To qualify for any of these scholarships, students must show evidence of:
a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5
school/community involvement
need for financial assistance
Willingness to participate in an interview, if selected to move forward

The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture is committed to investing in students pursuing careers in agriculture or a related field. For the 2023 year, GFA is offering $70,000 worth of scholarships.
