Family and Consumer Science at JCHS
Did you know the Career Technical Agricultural Education (CTAE) courses inside the Jackson County School System are currently working toward industry certification? With over 30 CTAE courses offered, the Jackson County School System is committed to offering students top-tier educational opportunities. While most of the CTAE courses are offered through the Empower College and Career Center, a few remain at base schools, including Family and Consumer Science at Jackson County High School. The FACS program at JCHS has approximately 396 students between two teachers and is part of the nutrition and food science pathway, which promotes healthy eating, how to safely prepare food, and promotes wellness. Students in the pathway were baking up some delicious pickles and then pita bread earlier this week. The FACS program at JCHS is associated with the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America organization. Teachers Brooke Curtis and Dani Fowler said the following: "We hope students learn skills and content they can use for the rest of their lives by developing a lifestyle of healthy living."
Mean Girls The Musical
Jackson County High School Panther Players' rendition of 'Mean Girls, The Musical' was an incredible spectacle, showcasing the immense talent of our student body. From stellar performances to breathtaking choreography, it was a testament to the dedication and skill of our young actors. Kudos to our Panther Players for delivering a show that truly wowed the audience!
