National Assessment Day
Jackson County High School’s National Assessment Day will take place on October 21, 2025. This day provides every student with the opportunity to take important college and career placement exams, reflecting our commitment to helping students prepare for their future goals.
Juniors and Seniors must register for their selected assessment by October 1, 2025.
Freshmen and Sophomores (9th and 10th Grade) will be automatically registered for the PSAT — no action is required for these students.

Cheesecake & Coffee Fundraiser
Support the JCHS Band by ordering delicious cheesecakes and coffee! Orders can be placed online through the link below, and a band student will deliver them to you in October—just in time for Thanksgiving!

2025 PROBE College Fair
Juniors and Seniors can attend and connect with college representations at the 2025 PROBE College Fair hosted at East Jackson HS on October 1st from 9 - 11 am. To attend, register with PROBE by visiting this link or using the QR Code, and complete and submit the permission form to the front office by September 24th. A bus will be provided. Contact WBL Coordinator, Mr. Maxwell with questions.

Exciting News from the Jaxco Band Booster Club! Starting with the September 12 home game against Madison County, you can skip the line and place your concession order right from your seat using the Blazebite app!
When your order is ready, you’ll get a notification to pick it up at the HOME concession stand. The pickup table will be set up just outside the side door — simply give your name, grab your order, and enjoy the game. Be sure to download the Blazebite app in advance and set up your profile and payment method. Don’t forget to enable location services for the best experience.

September's Rotary Student of the Month
Congratulations to Emma Abernethy – September's Rotary Student of the Month for Jackson County High School! Emma chose Ms. Chrissy Barnhill as her most influential teacher.
Work-Based Learning Spotlight
Jackson County High School senior Joyce Dushime is gaining valuable healthcare experience through Work-Based Learning. Joyce works with Visiting Angels, an in-home caregiver service, as a caregiver CNA intern.
She has completed multiple CTAE healthcare pathways, including Emergency Medical Responder, Allied Health’s CCNA, and Biotechnology. Through dual enrollment with Lanier Technical College, Joyce also earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
Her placement allows her to connect classroom learning with real-world training while making a difference in the lives of others. Joyce is a strong example of how WBL helps students prepare for future careers. Joyce is picture with one of her mentors, Tabitha Harkins.

JCHS Clubs Support Suicide Awareness Week
JCHS Clubs are recognizing Suicide Awareness Week, Sept 8th-13th, by creating a gift for every student to pick up on Monday, Sept 8th when they arrive to school. Mental Health is so important and our counseling department has several resources to help students who are struggling. If you are ever in need of someone to talk to, call or text 988 to be connected to a professional immediately.

Scholarship Opportunity: University of North Georgia Army ROTC Scholarship
The University of North Georgia is one of six Senior Military Colleges in the nation. UNG is seeking high school seniors who want to serve in the U.S. Army. The Army ROTC Scholarship pays for room and board (up to $12,000 per year) or 100% of tuition and fees + $420/month stipend + $1,200/yr book allowance. Certificate of Enrollment
Students: If you plan to obtain your learner’s permit or driver’s license within the next 30 days, please request your Certificate of School Enrollment and ADAP Certificate by visiting the JCHS website (Families & Students → JCHS Forms → Certificate of Enrollment for Driver’s License) or visit this link.
Once requested, certificates will be ready for pickup in the front office the NEXT DAY after 1:00 PM.

AP Exam Registration
Attention Fall & Full-Year AP Students and Parents — It’s time to sign up for your AP Exams!
Registration opens Monday, August 18, 2025 and runs through Friday, November 1, 2025.
Who: Fall & Full-Year AP Students
When: Aug. 18 – Nov. 1 (on-time registration)
Cost: $107 per exam
Late Registration: Nov. 2–7 (+$40 per exam)
2 Steps to Register:
Log into myAP Classroom → Join AP Classroom with the code provided by your teacher.
Go to Total Registration → Pay & Confirm
No payment = No exam order.
Avoid late fees — register by Nov. 1!
**Spring semester AP courses will register in next semester.
