EOC Parent/Student Resources
End of Course (EOC) exams will be held in December, and our administration wants students to be prepared to show what they know and to do their best on the exams. EOCs count for 10 percent of a student’s grade in algebra, biology, literature and composition II, and U.S. history. Results from the EOCs also factor into the CCRPI scores that are used to measure the performance of each high school and our school district.
There are several ways you can help your student be prepared.
Make sure your student is in school every day. Teachers will continue with new content while also reviewing each day in class. It is important for students to be present and engage in learning.
Each high school is offering additional after-school review sessions. Check the information provided by your student’s teacher, and help them attend these sessions, if possible.
Use the resources from the Georgia Department of Education that are provided below. You and your student can access study guides, practice tests, and detailed information about each test.
Use the Progress Learning Study Plan for personalized review and practice. JCSS provides each student with access to an individualized study plan through the Progress Learning platform. Your student can login through Clever, and this video tutorial shows how to access the study plan.
Take advantage of GaTutor. GaTutor is an innovative, free online tutoring program for 9th-12th grade public school students powered by Georgia Virtual Learning. It provides one-on-one tutoring sessions with Georgia-certified teachers who have expertise in various content areas and are eager to assist students in their quest for academic excellence.
As the exams approach, each school will provide a detailed schedule and testing plan. Make sure your student is well rested, eats a good breakfast, and follows the school plan on testing day. Teachers and students work hard throughout the semester, and we want that hard work to show on test day.
