Jaxco Summer Reading
Read What You Want. Win What You Love.
This isn’t your typical summer reading. No reading logs. No book reports. No tests. Just real stories, real choices—and real prizes.
Each week, we’ll feature a new book and share easy ways to read or listen—whether it’s on SORA, at your local library, or even through a great podcast.
Here’s how it works:
Read or listen to something each week
Complete a quick check-in on Google Form
You’re automatically entered to win that week’s prize
Want updates on featured books and prize announcements?
Join the Jaxco Summer Reading 2025 StudentSquare group or follow us on social media to stay in the loop. Scan the QR code or click this link to join—and don’t miss your chance to win!
Whether you’re into fantasy, thrillers, graphic novels, romance, or true crime, this is your chance to read what you love—and maybe win something awesome along the way.
This isn’t your average summer reading. It’s better.
JCSS Summer Meals
The Jackson County School System, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Education, will be providing meals for students and families in need. Meals will be made available from 7:30 to 8 a.m. and from 11 to 11:30 a.m. on the dates listed below. For any questions, please contact JCSS School Nutrition Director Taylor Blake via email at tblake@jcss.us or via the telephone by calling 706-367-5151 ext. 17621.
Immunization Requirements
To keep children in schools healthy, Georgia requires children to get vaccines against certain diseases. Please contact your child's primary care doctor to schedule the correct vaccines, or contact the local health department. Once the vaccines have been administered, your doctor should provide an updated Immunization Form 3231. A copy of this form needs to be given to the JCHS front office.
SAT Registration Is Open!
SAT® registration is now open for the 2025-26 testing year. Many colleges require or consider SAT scores as part of their holistic admission and placement decisions, and your score is a great way to show your college readiness.
Most juniors take their first SAT in the spring, and many take it again in the fall of their senior year to improve their score. The SAT can help you keep your college options open, demonstrate your unique strengths, and even qualify for scholarships.
JCSS Summer Camp Opportunities
