Summer Success Program 2025
Please review the details regarding the Summer Success Program offered by Jackson County High School. The primary objective of this program is to assist students in recuperating credits, thereby enabling them to progress towards graduation.

We are excited to celebrate the Jackson County High School Class of 2025 at Graduation on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia!
Doors open at 8:30 AM. To help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, all guests must go through a security screening and follow the arena’s clear bag policy.
Please note: Items such as balloons, beach balls, large signs or “fat heads,” cowbells, air horns, and other noisemakers will not be allowed through the security screening. Guests attempting to bring these items will be asked to return them to their vehicle or dispose of them before entering the arena.
We look forward to honoring our graduates and celebrating this milestone together. Go Panthers!

Medication Pick Up Reminder
All student medications must be picked up by the last day of school, Wednesday, May 21st, no later than 3 PM. This includes daily, over-the-counter, and emergency medications. Any remaining items will be properly disposed of after this deadline.

Semester 2 Exam Information
Final Exams Are Approaching!
Final Exams will be held on the following dates:
Seniors: May 13th & 14th
Grades 9–11: May 20th & 21st
Please carefully review the final exam schedule and early check-out procedures below.
Important Reminders for Final Exam Days:
No Early Exams: All exams must be taken on the scheduled date.
No Check-Outs During Exams: Students may not be checked out during an exam period—please plan ahead.
Attendance Matters: A missed exam will be recorded as a zero in Infinite Campus until the exam is made up.
Senior Exemptions: Only seniors with a weighted A average in a course are eligible to be exempt from that exam. If a senior qualifies for an exam exemption(s), parents/guardians should receive a notification email by Friday, May 9th at 4:00 PM.
Early Check-Out Information – May 14th (Seniors Only) & May 21st (Grades 9–11)
Students who wish to check out early on May 14th (Seniors Only) & May 21st (Grades 9–11) day must follow these guidelines:
A parent/guardian must complete and sign the official Early Check-Out Permission Form.
The completed form must be submitted by the student to their 2nd-period teacher on the day of check-out.
Students may only check out after their final exam is complete for the day.
Phone calls, emails, or handwritten notes will not be accepted for check-out on these dates.
Empower students will return to their base schools at normal dismissal times.
Hard copies of the permission form are available in the front office and during all lunches.
Early Check-Out Dates:
May 14th: Seniors Only
May 21st: Grades 9–11

Exam Descriptions:
End of Course Exams: EOCs are Milestone tests required for students enrolled in the designated courses: American Literature, Algebra I, Biology, and US History. Students not enrolled in these courses will not be required to take an EOC.
Final Exams: All 9th-11th grade students, along with seniors who do not have a weighted A average in their courses, will take final exams.
Advance Placement Exams: AP exams are available for students enrolled in an AP course during the 24-25 school year. To take an AP exam, students must be registered through College Board.
International Baccalaureate Exams: IB exams are required for students enrolled in an IB course.

Griffin has shown incredible focus and determination in Algebra this semester. He consistently puts in the extra time—staying after school, working during advisement, and seeking help when needed—all with a strong commitment to doing his best. His dedication to growth and learning is a powerful example of how showing up with effort and purpose leads to success. We’re so proud of his hard work and know he has a bright future ahead!

Mrs. Weldon plays an essential role in keeping JCHS connected. Through professional and timely communications and a tireless behind-the-scenes work ethic, she ensures that students, staff, and families stay informed and engaged. Her dedication helps make JCHS a stronger, more unified school community.

Work-Based Learning Spotlight
Ian Arnold, a senior at JCHS, is gaining hands-on culinary experience as a chef apprentice at The Galloping Galette (TGG) in Braselton through two Work-Based Learning blocks. He completed the CTAE Foods Pathway and earned his ServSafe Certification, with plans to pursue a career in the culinary field after graduation. At TGG, Ian is developing his skills in French cuisine, specializing in traditional galettes and crêpes from the Bretagne region of Northwestern France. In the photo, Ian presents a meal he prepared for his Foods instructors: Mrs. Curtis, Mrs. Fowler, and Mrs. Rudnik.

To attend, seniors needed to register by May 5th . If you can’t make it, you can pick up your letters at the front office May 15–16.

Senior Walk – Visitor Parking Reminder:
Jackson County High School will hold its Senior Walk on Wednesday, May 14.
Families and guests planning to attend should park and enter through the Visitor Side of Panther Stadium.
Following the walk, seniors will have the opportunity to take photos on the football field in their caps and gowns.

JCSS Summer Camp Opportunities

Certificate of Enrollment
Attention Students: Planning to Get Your Learner’s Permit or Driver’s License This Summer?
If you’ll be heading to the DDS over summer break, don’t forget to request your Certificate of School Enrollment and choose the “SUMMER” option—this ensures your form is valid all summer long.
Once submitted, your form will be available for pickup the next school day after 1 PM in the JCHS Front Office. These documents cannot be mailed or faxed, so please plan to pick them up in person.
The last day to submit a request before summer break is Monday, May 19th at 3 PM. Requests can still be made during the summer, but you'll need to come to the high school to pick them up. Also, be sure to request your ADAP Certificate—you’ll need both documents for your DDS appointment.
