JCHS Chromebook Checklist
Dear Panther Families,
As we gear up for the upcoming school year, we kindly request your assistance in ensuring that your student's Chromebook is in optimal condition for learning. Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Please note that all returning 9th-12th graders should have a Chromebook assigned to them.
Here are a few quick checks to perform on your Chromebook:
Check for Damage: Inspect your Chromebook for any physical damage. Report any damages on this form.
Check the Charger: Ensure that your Chromebook charger is present, functioning properly, and that there are no loose or frayed wires. If you are missing a charger, replacement chargers are available for purchase at $25 each.
Clean Your Chromebook: Clorox wipes can be used to clean the device. Please power off the Chromebook, wipe it with the Clorox wipe, and then dry it with a paper towel. It's important that all Chromebooks are free from stickers or any form of graffiti.
If your Chromebook requires repairs or if you need further assistance, please complete this form, and a member of our Jackson County High School technology team will reach out to you.
Lastly, don't forget to bring your fully charged Chromebook with you on the first day of school.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to a successful school year ahead!
Summer Learning Expectations
As the summer draws to a close, we encourage all students to take part in our Summer Learning Challenges! Visit Jackson County Schools Summer Learning for more details. Happy learning!
Advanced Content Supplemental Assignments
For the 2024-2025 school year, the expectation for all students enrolled in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses is to participate in supplemental work prior to the beginning of their AP/IB course. The goal of supplemental assignments is to build prior knowledge and provide a preview of the first unit of study for each advanced course. We believe this will better prepare students for academic growth and the overall success of our advanced coursework programs. Assignments are not meant to be punitive, but to prepare students for the rigor of advanced coursework.
Students enrolled in 1st Semester AP/IB courses will complete supplemental assignments before returning to school in August.
Students enrolled in 2nd Semester AP/IB courses will complete supplemental assignments before courses begin in January.
Students should complete the coursework only for the courses in which they are enrolled. Click on the hyperlink(s) on the attached document to locate assignments. Students should reach out to their AP/IB teacher with any specific questions.
