Holiday Break
Reminder! The Jackson County School System will be closed for students and staff beginning Thursday, Dec. 19 through Friday, Jan. 3. Staff return on Jan. 3 and students return on Monday, Jan. 6! We hope our students, staff and community have a safe break and we cannot wait to see everyone in 2025!
Final Exams Schedule
Be sure to add these important final exam dates to your calendars for December:
End-of-Course (EOC) Exams:
EOCs are Milestone tests required for students currently enrolled in American Literature, Biology, Algebra 1, or U.S. History. Students not enrolled in these classes will not take an EOC.
December 9th: American Lit Section 1 EOC Exam
December 10th: American Lit Sections 2 & 3 EOC Exam
December 11th: Biology EOC Exam
December 12th: Algebra 1 EOC Exam
December 13th: US History EOC Exam
Final Exams:
All 9th-11th grade students, along with seniors who do not have a weighted A average in their courses, will take final exams.
December 17th (No Early Release) – 1st & 2nd Periods
1st Period Exam: 8:00 - 9:25
2nd Period Exam: 9:31 - 10:56
December 18th (No Early Release) – 3rd & 4th Periods
3rd Period Exam: 11:35 - 1:34
4th Period Exam: 1:40 - 3:05
Important Reminders:
Early Exams: There will be no early exams. Please make sure to be present on your scheduled exam days.
Check-Out Policy: Check-outs are not allowed during exam periods. Plan ahead to avoid conflicts.
Absences: If a student misses an exam, a zero will be entered in Infinite Campus until the exam is completed.
Final Exam Exemption: Only seniors with a weighted A average in a course are eligible to be exempt from the final exam for that course.
End of Course Testing: EOC tests will take place during 1st & 2nd periods at JCHS, starting at 8 a.m.

JCSS Technology Competition
Congratulations to our amazing Jaxco students who participated in the 2nd Annual JCSS Technology Competition on Friday! These talented individuals impressed us with their creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills. A special congratulations to Lillian Hayes, Brighton Andrews, Jake Simmons (not pictured), Walter Norman, Anthony Chavarria, Baileigh Cox, and Bartu Tunctan. We are so proud of everything you’ve accomplished!
Work-Based Learning Highlight
Anna Brae Wood (12th grade) and Jake Bachman (11th grade) are participating in Work-Based Learning (WBL) at Braselton Animal Hospital in Hoschton, GA. Dr. Jacob Segers recognized their skills and recommended both Anna Brae and Jake for WBL as they advanced through the CTAE Veterinarian & Animal Science Pathway. As Vet Tech Assistants, they assist with examinations, clean instruments and kennels, exercise animals, monitor recovery, support customers, and work alongside Dr. Linda Rentfrow (Veterinarian), Casey McDaniels (Vet Tech/Office Manager), and the rest of the team.
Winter Band Concert
Our talented Jackson County High School musicians delivered a spectacular performance at the Winter Band Concert! From festive classics to awe-inspiring melodies, the evening was filled with the sounds of the season and showcased the dedication and hard work of our students and directors. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the magic of music this winter!
Operation Christmas Child
The International Club teamed up with the Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, and Beta Club for Operation Christmas Child, and the results were amazing! Together, they filled 57 boxes to spread joy and hope to children around the world this holiday season. Great job, Panthers!

Jaxco Ornament of the Year: A New Holiday Tradition
This holiday season, start a meaningful tradition with the 2024 Jaxco Ornament. Each year, add a new ornament to your tree and create a timeless collection that celebrates the spirit of Jackson County and the memories we share as a community.
Our ornaments are crafted in the Jaxco Library Learning Commons to fund special projects year-round. After you order, ornaments can be picked up at JCHS or your school's front office.

🚨 Holiday Update: 🚨
If you’re planning to get your permit or license during Christmas break, be sure to request your COE by Monday, Dec. 16th. Requests submitted after this date will be processed when school resumes on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. Plan ahead and check this off your list!
Students who will be obtaining their learner’s permit or driver’s license MUST request their Certificate of School Enrollment (COE) and Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) BEFORE you go to your appointment.
