Work-Based Learning Spotlight
JCHS senior Andrea Segraves is currently participating in Work-Based Learning (WBL) at North Georgia Aviation (NGA), located at the Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport in Gainesville, Georgia, during her 4th block this spring. She plans to attend Auburn University’s School of Aviation with the goal of becoming a commercial pilot. Through her internship at NGA, Andrea has the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working alongside aviation mentors and pilots. She assists General Manager Madisen Sims with a variety of tasks, including flight and equipment check-ins and check-outs, scheduling, public relations, customer communication, and front desk responsibilities. Outside of her internship, she is also working toward earning her pilot’s license. Thanks to Andrea’s positive impact, NGA has joined as a new WBL partner, now offering opportunities for both administrative and mechanical assistant roles.
