Work Based Learning Spotlight
Jackson County High School senior Adrianna “Tate” Pinion is making history in the Work-Based Learning (WBL) program as the system’s first-ever volunteer placement with Northeast Georgia Health Systems (NGHS) at the Braselton hospital. Through this opportunity, Tate has gained valuable experience in the medical field and is paving the way for future healthcare students to follow in her footsteps.
Tate’s role with the NGHS Volunteer Program gives her firsthand exposure to the demands and responsibilities of healthcare work. On a typical day, she can be found preparing patient rooms, greeting and hosting visitors, stocking and organizing supplies, answering patient communications, and assisting with many other essential tasks. Each responsibility allows her to learn more about how a hospital operates while giving her insight into nursing and healthcare careers.
As she builds her professional skills and explores her interest in healthcare, Tate is not only preparing for her own future but also helping open the door for other students interested in gaining real-world medical experience. Her leadership as the first NGHS volunteer in the WBL program sets a strong example for her peers.
With her dedication and willingness to serve, Adrianna “Tate” Pinion is proving that WBL experiences can make a lasting impact—not only for students but for the community as well.
