Senior Meeting
Attention Seniors:

Our JCHS Clinic is in need of some supplies for our students. We're asking for your help in donating the following items:

U.S. Senate Youth Program
Are you a high school junior or senior interested in the American political process? The U.S. Senate Youth Program offers an exceptional opportunity for outstanding students to gain firsthand knowledge of government through Washington Week. Each year, two students from every state are selected as delegates, earning a $10,000 scholarship for their college education. This program is an excellent chance for those passionate about public service and politics.

Updated Checkout Procedures at Jackson County High School
Please note the following updated checkout procedures:
General Checkout:
Students must check out through the front office or clinic if leaving during the school day.
A parent/legal guardian must be present for checkout. No checkouts allowed after 2:30 PM.
Illness:
Sick students will be checked out through the clinic.
Parent/Guardian Notes:
Submit checkout notes to the office between 7:30 AM and 7:45 AM.
Notes must include date, time, reason, signature, and phone number.
Notes will be verified before approval. Late notes require administrator approval.
Checkout Process:
Students receive a checkout slip, have it signed by their teacher, then sign out at the office and leave campus immediately.
In-Person Checkouts:
Parents/legal guardians must bring proper ID to check out students in person.
Returning to School:
Students must sign in at the office upon return and get a check-in slip for their teacher.
Note: Phone calls and emails for checkouts are not accepted.

Officer Applications Now Open!
Officer applications are now available and can be picked up in room 4225/4236 or by emailing Mrs. Uesseler or Ms. Wangenheim. The deadline to submit your application is August 19th by 3:30 p.m. Please note: This opportunity is for members only.
Drama Club
The Panther Players will hold their first Drama Club meeting of the year! Join them in the Blackbox on Wednesday, August 14th, from 3:15 to 4:00 PM. All students are welcome! We look forward to seeing you there!

Our first meeting will be Wednesday, August 14th at 3:15pm at the Grand Staircase. We'll have a makeup meeting on Thursday, August 15th at 7:30am in Mrs. Powers' room, #4220.

JCHS Club Day on Main Street was a success! Students had the opportunity to learn about the wide range of clubs available and connect with sponsors. Jackson County High School Work-Based Learning
JCHS senior Adelyn Lovejoy is participating in Work-Based Learning (WBL) for one block each semester. After completing high school and her post-secondary education, Adelyn aims to pursue a career in healthcare. To enhance her already impressive resume and build on the knowledge she gained in her CTAE Healthcare classes, she sought out hands-on work experience and an internship. This fall, Adelyn earned an Assisted Living Assistant position at Walden's Cove, and in the spring, she will be placed as an intern with Northeast Georgia Health Systems (NGHS).
Carson Odom and Paisley Gillespie are this weeks Student Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Takeuchi.
Carson hit field goals of 39 and 42 yards, and kicked every kickoff through the endzone, allowing ZERO returns, in a 35-7 win over East Jackson.
Paisley recorded 75 kills this week (22 against Jefferson), while hitting .475% on the week!
