National Honor Society - Life on Land in Action!
Inspired by the United Nations’ Goal Life on Land—to protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems—our National Honor Society members rolled up their sleeves for a campus clean-up during their recent meeting.
Their hard work paid off with bags and bags of trash collected, making our school grounds cleaner, greener, and more beautiful for everyone. 💪♻️
Way to go, NHS! Thank you for leading the way in caring for our environment and showing Panther Nation what it means to take action for a sustainable future.
Work-Based Learning Spotlight
Jackson County High School senior Astrada Rogers is making the most of his time in the Work-Based Learning (WBL) program. Astrada spends his morning WBL blocks at BM&K Construction as a CAD Apprentice. In this role, he applies his skills to drafting and designing transportation site and development projects, while also using critical thinking and problem-solving to support the company’s work.
Astrada has prepared for this opportunity by completing multiple CTAE pathways, including Architecture, JROTC, and Foreign Language. These experiences have built a strong foundation of discipline, creativity, and communication that he now carries into his professional setting. Through WBL, Astrada is gaining valuable real-world experience in construction design and engineering, as he works with a Civil 3D program on an office expansion of the Jefferson Public Library while adhering to the Braselton Development Code Guidelines.
