Reminder! The Jackson County School System will be closed for students and staff beginning Thursday, Dec. 19 through Friday, Jan. 3. Staff return on Jan. 3 and students return on Monday, Jan. 6! We hope our students, staff and community have a safe break and we cannot wait to see everyone in 2025!
Final Exams Schedule
All 9th-11th grade students, along with seniors who do not have a weighted A average in their courses, will take final exams. We will follow the normal bell schedule with no early release.
December 17th – 1st & 2nd Periods
1st Period Exam: 8:00 - 9:25
2nd Period Exam: 9:31 - 10:56
December 18th – 3rd & 4th Periods
3rd Period Exam: 11:35 - 1:34
4th Period Exam: 1:40 - 3:05
Important Reminders:
Early Exams: There will be no early exams. Please make sure to be present on your scheduled exam days.
Check-Out Policy: Check-outs are not allowed during exam periods. Plan ahead to avoid conflicts.
Absences: If a student misses an exam, a zero will be entered in Infinite Campus until the exam is completed.
Final Exam Exemption: Only seniors with a weighted A average in a course are eligible to be exempt from the final exam for that course.

Last week, Jaxco Dance took the stage for their "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" recital, and it was truly magical! From the graceful ballet performances to the electrifying routines, our talented dancers wowed the crowd with their skill, energy, and passion. Congratulations to our incredible dancers and Mrs. Ware for putting on such a spectacular show! Thank you for spreading holiday cheer and Panther pride through your artistry.

Stock Market Game Champions
Congratulations to Jackson County High School students Gracie Matovina, Katelyn Czetnar, and Arden Stewart from Mr. Simonds's second-period Economics class for being named the Congressional District's Fall 2024 Stock Market Game champions! This means the team achieved the highest total equity in the entire congressional district!

NHS and Beta Community Service Project
We are beyond proud of our NHS and Beta Club members this week as they completed a monumental community service project providing holiday cheer to 490 elementary students at our four feeder schools!
Work-Based Learning Highlight
JCHS junior Quy Lan Johnson is actively participating in CTAE Healthcare courses at Empower, aiming to deepen her knowledge of the healthcare industry, its careers, and various opportunities. Alongside this, she is tackling a rigorous academic schedule, including accelerated placement and dual enrollment courses. This semester, Quy Lan gained hands-on experience through WBL at Hoschton Chiropractic with Dr. Dave Uhry, where she learned about patient interaction, clinical equipment and procedures, research and development, and administrative tasks.
🏀 Special Olympics Basketball Highlights! 🏀
Students from Ms. Sharpton, Ms. Harris, Ms. Townley, and Ms. Wilson's classes represented Jaxco with pride at the Special Olympics Basketball event at East Jackson High School! They impressed everyone with their skills, teamwork, and Panther spirit.

JCHS Teachers Honored for Excellence
The Jackson County Board of Education proudly recognized JCHS teachers Ms. Stephanie Langley and Ms. Allison Atkins at last week's meeting for their exceptional achievement in being named the district's representatives for the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Congratulations to these outstanding educators for their dedication to inspiring excellence in STEM education!
Congratulations to Maka Domingo and Landon Jones, who have been selected as this weeks Student Athletes of the Week!
Maka went 6-1 on the week for our Girls Wrestling Team, while Landon provided steady scoring, rebounding, and free throw shooting for our boys basketball team this week!

🚨 Holiday Update: 🚨
If you’re planning to get your permit or license during Christmas break, be sure to request your COE by Monday, Dec. 16th. Requests submitted after this date will be processed when school resumes on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025. Plan ahead and check this off your list!
Students who will be obtaining their learner’s permit or driver’s license MUST request their Certificate of School Enrollment (COE) and Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) BEFORE you go to your appointment.
