Spring Recital 2025
Join Jaxco Dance on May 7 and 8 at 7 PM in the JCHS auditorium as we celebrate dance around the world! From Memphis to Mozambique to Milan, we will explore dance in other languages, cultures, and communities! We will recognize our seniors and end the evening with a tribute to the Queen of Rock N' Roll- Tina Turner! This promises to be our biggest recital yet! Tickets are on sale at GoFan now or at the door!
Summer Success Program 2025
Please review the details regarding the Summer Success Program offered by Jackson County High School. The primary objective of this program is to assist students in recuperating credits, thereby enabling them to progress towards graduation.

Semester 2 Exam Schedule
JCHS End of Course (EOC) Exams, Final Exams, AP Exams, and IB Exams are coming up. Parents/Guardians and students, now is the time to plan ahead. Check the schedules and mark these important dates on your calendar.
Important Reminders:
No Early Exams – Students must take their exams on the scheduled date.
No Check-Outs – Students cannot check out during an exam period. Please plan ahead.
Attendance Matters – If a student misses an exam, a zero will be entered in Infinite Campus until the exam is made up.
Senior Exemptions – Only SENIORS with a weighted A average in a course may be exempt from that final exam.
EOC Testing – EOC exams will take place during 1st & 2nd periods at 8 AM at JCHS.

Exam Descriptions:
End of Course Exams: EOCs are Milestone tests required for students enrolled in the designated courses: American Literature, Algebra I, Biology, and US History. Students not enrolled in these courses will not be required to take an EOC.
Final Exams: All 9th-11th grade students, along with seniors who do not have a weighted A average in their courses, will take final exams.
Advance Placement Exams: AP exams are available for students enrolled in an AP course during the 24-25 school year. To take an AP exam, students must be registered through College Board.
International Baccalaureate Exams: IB exams are required for students enrolled in an IB course.
As we prepare for final exams, please carefully review the following details regarding early check-out procedures for our students.
Students who wish to check out early on May 14th (Seniors Only) or May 21st (Grades 9-11) must adhere to these guidelines:
Parents/Guardians must complete and sign the a permission form.
The completed form should be submitted by the student to their 2nd-period teacher on the indicated check-out date.
Early check-out is only permitted after the student's last final exam for the day (see dates below).
We cannot accept phone calls, parent/guardian notes, or emails for student check-outs on the designated dates.
Students at Empower will be transported back to their base school at normal operating times.
A hard copy of the early check-out permission form will be available for students to pick up from the front office or during lunches on May 8th

Jaxco Service & Leadership
Jackson County High School students have stepped up in a big way—278 students have volunteered their time to complete over 9,000 service hours this school year through various club activities! Their efforts have made a meaningful impact on our community and contributed to global goals in health, education, and sustainable communities. We’re proud of our Panthers for their commitment to service and leadership!
Work-Based Learning Spotlights
Kortney English, a senior at JCHS, spends the second half of her school day in the Work-Based Learning (WBL) program. She completed the Agricultural Animal Science CTAE Pathway and was actively involved in various school activities, making the most of her final year. Kortney discovered a passion for cosmetology and currently works at Moss & Mane. She plans to continue in this field by attending Keune Academy to become a Master Cosmetologist and Hair Designer.
Michael 'Cason' Kearns, a senior at JCHS, is participating in Work-Based Learning (WBL) during the afternoon portion of this Spring semester. Last semester, he completed the Agricultural Mechanics CTAE pathway and earned his NOCTI certification. Eager to get a head start in his chosen career field, Cason set out to gain hands-on experience. As a Peach State Freightliner apprentice, he is currently learning to perform diagnostics, carry out preventive maintenance, conduct repairs, and inspect heavy trucks and tractor-trailers.

Date: Wednesday, May 7
Time: Pick up your crown and Golden Apple Award between 7:30–8:00 AM or during Advisement at the Grand Staircase. Wear your crown proudly throughout the day!
Take a Picture: Don’t forget to snap a photo with your crowned self and your Golden Apple teacher, then email it to Mrs. Weldon at jweldon@jcss.us.

Parents, family members, friends, and teachers who wish to send a letter to a senior may do so by mailing it to JCHS no later than Monday, May 5.
Letters may include memories, well-wishes, encouragement, and congratulatory remarks. They will be distributed to seniors during the Senior Reception on May 14.
Important Note: Senior Letters are intended solely as letters, not as graduation gifts. Oversized items will be discarded, and we cannot guarantee the delivery of money, as letters are not stored securely.

It is extremely important that both students and families review this information in full. Staying informed is the key to a stress-free and successful end to senior year.

Senior Chromebook Return: What You Need to Know
Seniors, it’s almost time to return your Chromebooks and chargers!
Please read this entire message carefully. Not following these instructions could delay your return or require you to come back at a different day or time.
Return Dates and Times:
All Chromebook returns must be completed in person at the Jaxco Library Learning Commons during the following times:
Thursday, May 8 – 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Friday, May 9 – 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Monday, May 12 – 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Tuesday, May 13 – 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Wednesday, May 14 – 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM (Final Deadline)
What You Need to Know:
Every senior must complete the return process through the Library Learning Commons. Devices cannot be dropped off at the front office or sent with family or friends.
Your Chromebook and charger will be inspected for damages at check-in.
All stickers must be removed, and your device should be clean before you return it.
Plan for 15–30 minutes to complete the return process, depending on how busy it is when you arrive.
Charge your Chromebook the night before you plan to return it. Your device must power on for inspection. If it does not power on, you may be asked to return later once it’s charged.
If your charger has been lost, you must pay $25 for it. To save time, we recommend paying in advance through SchoolPay.
If you think your Chromebook is damaged, visit the technician early to avoid delays during your return.
If you return during the school day, you must have teacher permission and a hall pass.
All Chromebooks and chargers must be returned by 3:30 PM on Wednesday, May 14.
Payment Information:
If your charger has been lost, a $25 payment is required. To pay for a lost Chromebook charger, visit this link.
If you have a cracked screen or other damage, please consult Mr. David Jones in the Tech Office, located in the Jaxco Library Learning Commons, to find out the charges before completing your return.

Dance Team Kiddie Camp
Join the JCHS Rally Cats Dance Team for Kiddie Camp!

Rising K–5th grade students are invited to learn fun hip hop, jazz, and pom routines taught by the Jackson County High School Rally Cats Dance Team! Camp includes snacks, crafts, games, and a T-shirt.

Certificate of Enrollment
Attention Students: Planning to Get Your Learner’s Permit or Driver’s License This Summer?
If you’ll be heading to the DDS over summer break, don’t forget to request your Certificate of School Enrollment and choose the “SUMMER” option—this ensures your form is valid all summer long.
Once submitted, your form will be available for pickup the next school day after 1 PM in the JCHS Front Office. These documents cannot be mailed or faxed, so please plan to pick them up in person.
The last day to submit a request before summer break is Monday, May 19th at 3 PM. Requests can still be made during the summer, but you'll need to come to the high school to pick them up. Also, be sure to request your ADAP Certificate—you’ll need both documents for your DDS appointment.
