National Assessment Day is this Wednesday, October 23rd!
Jackson County High School will be holding PSAT, ACT, and ASVAB tests for students on campus and at Empower.
Please refer to the graphic for specific testing information, including testing locations, times, and important reminders.

PSAT/ACT/ASVAB are online assessments, so bring your fully charged Chromebook and charger to school. We have a limited number of loaners available, so it’s important to come prepared.
No calculators will be provided, so make sure to bring your own approved calculator! Please reference the PSAT and ACT Calculator Policies to ensure you are using an acceptable calculator.
Game Day Spirit
This Friday, October 25th, get ready for PJ Out! Show off your Panther pride by rocking your favorite pajamas as we take on Loganville High School in an away game. Let’s bring the spirit and cheer on our Panthers to victory! Go Panthers!
Jaxco Fall Festival
Join us for a night of family fun at the Jaxco Fall Festival on Tuesday, October 29, from 5-7 PM at Jackson County High School! We're excited to host a Trunk or Treat, and we need your help to make it spooktacular! 👻 We're looking for volunteers to decorate trunks—bring your creativity and Halloween spirit to delight our trick-or-treaters! This Monday, Jackson County High School is celebrating our amazing bus drivers! JCHS families, let’s take a moment to thank these dedicated drivers for their hard work and commitment. Be sure to show your appreciation and let your bus driver know how much they mean to us!
Jackson County Mountain Bike Team
Congrats to the Mountain Bike Team finishing 4th in the Eastern Conference. Caleb Bowers won the Varsity Race and Cassidy Lugo won the Womens Varsity 2 Division. Cassidy won the conference series championship and Caleb Finished 2nd in the Conference. Jackson County has 10 of its riders qualify for the Peach State Championship in Rome next weekend.
📚Othello on Trial! 🎭
Last week in Mr. Brooks and Mrs. Reese’s Advanced Composition class, students stepped into the courtroom for an Othello Court Case! With Mr. Brooks acting as judge, students argued their cases, playing the roles of attorneys, witnesses, and jury members as they debated the actions of Othello, Desdemona, and Iago. It was a fantastic way to bring Shakespeare to life and sharpen those persuasive skills!

Last week, our incredible faculty and staff were treated to a fall-themed surprise! They enjoyed loading up their apples with delicious toppings, making for a sweet and festive treat. Thank you for all you do to keep our school thriving—you're truly awesome to the core!
Congratulations to the Jaxco Marching Band - Grand Champions!
Congratulations to the Jaxco Marching Band for being named Grand Champions at the 2024 Berkmar Marching Invitational! With all Superior ratings, they showcased incredible talent and dedication. We are so proud of how they represented Jackson County High School! Keep up the fantastic work, Panthers!
FCCLA FALL Rally
We are so proud of all of our FCCLA Panthers who competed in FCCLA’s Fall Rally at Six Flags! A special congratulations to Cheyanne Hutchins for placing 1st in the Top Merchandiser competition! Way to represent Jaxco, Panthers!
JCHS Fall Pep Rally Fun!
Last Friday, Panther spirit was in full swing as we celebrated our Fall Pep Rally during lunch! We gave a big cheer to all our amazing fall teams, including Competition Cheer, Cross Country, Dance Team, Flag Football, Football, Marching Band, Softball, and Volleyball.
We also took time to recognize our Homecoming Court and Student Council for their leadership and dedication!
Students enjoyed some friendly competitions and came together to show off their Panther pride. It was a fantastic day filled with school spirit, fun, and celebration!
Jackson County High School Work-Based Learning
JCHS Senior, Bridget Bogel participates in WBL at Walden’s Cove Personal Care Home as a caregiver for the elderly. Next semester, Bridget will continue at Walden’s Cove as well as intern in rotations at NGHS. She plans to pursue a career in nursing. These placements afford her valuable experience and compliment her CTAE healthcare course work and certifications.
Josh (and the entire Panther Defense) absolutely stifled an offense averaging 35 points per game on Friday Night!
The Lady Panthers won their 𝟒𝟎𝐭𝐡 match (a school record) in dominating fashion and are hosting the Elite 8 on Wednesday.
Flag Football is off to a 10-0 start. This past weekend, they won the tournament held at Lakeside Evans HS!
Softball season ended this week. So proud of this team and their fight--they got better and better as the season progressed. Region 8-AAAAA Runners Up! A big THANK YOU to our seniors for their dedication over the past four years!

Panther Cross Country continues to SHINE! Next, up....State Sectionals!
Panther Cheer had their BEST PERFORMANCE of the season on Saturday!
The JCHS Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet will be held this Saturday, beginning at 5:30pm in the cafeteria and auditorium.
Six new inductees will enter into the Hall of Fame, and our Athletic Director's Award Winners will be honored as well.

Mark Your Calendars! Semester 1 Final Exam Schedule
It's early, but it's time to start planning for final exams! The Semester 1 Final Exam Schedule includes course-specific End-of-Course tests and final exams, which will take place on December 17th and 18th. Please note that there will be no early release on these days.
Certificate of Enrollment
Students who will be obtaining their learner’s permit or driver’s license MUST request their Certificate of School Enrollment (COE) and Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) BEFORE you go to your appointment.
