Explore Jackson County's Educational Heritage!
It's Homecoming Week, and we’re excited to unveil the Jackson County Digital Archive Project to our students, alumni, and community! Take a journey through time as we explore the educational history of Jackson County, dating back to the 1950s. Our digital collection features yearbooks, scrapbooks, and photographs that capture the heart and soul of education in our community. Each image and document is a piece of our shared heritage, preserving moments that define who we are.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Jackson County High School Principal Mrs. Melissa Gillespie for her unwavering support, Mr. Ricky Sanders for his extensive knowledge of Jackson County and valuable contributions to our collections, and Elizabeth Kingrey, a Jackson County High School senior, for dedicating hours of work scanning and organizing materials for this project. We are excited to see this collection grow with the help of more students, staff, and community members.
Do you have yearbooks or memorabilia to contribute? Help us grow our archive! Reach out to Jill Weldon, JCHS Media Specialist, at jweldon@jcss.us. Your donations will help future generations connect with our rich history.

Jackson County High School Work-Based Learning
Ms. Harris and Ms. Sharpton’s classes visited the Jackson County Elections & Registration Office today for an interactive voter simulation! Students had the opportunity to experience the voting process firsthand, learning about the importance of civic engagement and the steps involved in casting a ballot. This hands-on experience gave students a deeper understanding of the election process and the role it plays in shaping their community and country. A huge thank you to the Elections Office staff for making this educational experience possible!
