AP Exam Registration

For students enrolled in AP courses, registration for 1st Semester AP exams is now available through Total Registration. Parents and students can locate the AP testing exam schedule, and link to the Total Registration website at our JCHS AP webpage.
Students must be registered and paid in full on Total Registration by November 1st.

EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY
High school seniors with an A average in the course will be exempt from the final exam for that course. Students in grades 9-11 may not exempt final exams.
A final exam does NOT include an EOC, EOPA, or other mandated test.
Students and parents/guardians will be notified in advance if a student is exempt from a final exam.
EARLY RELEASE PROCEDURES: December 19th & 20th
Car riders and students who drive may leave campus at 10:55
Lunch: 10:55-11:20 (all students) with a release to buses by 11:25

JCSS Support Person of the Year Winner
CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Mr. Keith Ware, who serves as our JCHS Plant Manager. Mr. Ware was named the Jackson County School System Support Person of the Year during a banquet Thursday night! IB Interest Meeting
All 8th, 9th, and 10th graders and their families are invited to an interest meeting about International Baccalaureate courses. We'll discuss course content, IB exams, college credit, and program applications. The meeting is Wed. Oct 4th at 7pm in the cafeteria.

Fall Chorus Concert
The JCHS Chorus will have their fall concert on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 7pm in the JCHS auditorium. Admission is free. Come hear some great music!

Congratulations to Sydney McCutcheon – October's Rotary Student of the Month for Jackson County High School! Sydney chose Mr. Brad Hayes as her most influential teacher.
Student Advisory Council
Congratulations to Jackson County's Dane Trimble for being appointed to State Superintendent Richard Woods' Student Advisory Council. Dane is one of just four students from the Northeast Georgia RESA district to be appointed to the council, which will discuss various education-related topics with Superintendent Woods.

IB Students of the Month
Congrats to three of our IB Students of the Month, Carlos, Phoenix, and Daniel, for being risk takers and creating a podcast on the Spanish Civil War in IB History of the Americas. Their innovative podcast described the American response to the crisis as the Second World War loomed on the horizon. Their creative approach included special guests from the time period and great discussion on the global impact of the Spanish Civil War.

Six Flags Over Georgia is hosting their annual Grad Nite on May 3rd 2024 from 8pm-3am!
This is a private event for ONLY high school seniors and their chaperones!

Your formal (tux or black drape) photo for the yearbook must be taken by Cady Studios. Your senior photos must be taken by November 1st to appear in the yearbook. You may submit a casual photo by an outside photographer. Instructions on how to do so will be sent in early October

Yearbooks and Tribute Ads can be purchased at www.yearbookordercenter.com. Tribute Ads must be purchased by December 1st. Yearbooks sold out completely in early February. Order now to secure your copy.

FLAG FOOTBALL DEBUTS
On Wednesday, Flag Football scrimmaged Mountain View and did very well.
The JV Panthers got a win, while the varsity team lost by 6 in their first ever game.
The first REAL game is October 9th at home vs. East Jackson.
CROSS COUNTRY TAKES ON UNICOI
The Cross Country teams travelled to Unicoi State Park for a tough tune up meet this week.
Erin O'Brien, Kendall Goetzman, and Loralai Eager all finished in the top twenty of the girls varsity race.
The boys were led by Adam Thomas and Alex Southivong.
VOLLEYBALL HOLDS SENIOR NIGHT, REGION TOURNAMENT NEXT
Panther Volleyball finished their regular season this week with wins over Madison County and East Hall on Senior Night.
This week is the Region 8-AAAAAA tournament at North Forsyth. The Panthers will play on Wednesday and Thursday.
FOOTBALL PLAYS ITS 3rd DOUBLE OVERTIME GAME
Friday Night in Habersham County, our football team again rallied from behind, scoring on the final play of regulation, but fell in double overtime to the Raiders.
This was the third time this season that our team has played two extra periods to determine a winner.
Next up is Shiloh at home this Friday.
JAXCO CHEER HITS HIGH MARKS AT BUFORD
At Buford on Saturday, our varsity Competitive Cheer team scored their highest score in recent years against some of the best in the state.
Hovering in the 70's most of this season, the Lady Panthers scored above 80, putting them in a great position to qualify for the state meet in a few weeks.
SOFTBALL GOES 4-0 ON THE WEEK
On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Lady Panthers swept Habersham Central and Gainesville, respectively, in doubleheaders.
Those wins place the Panthers in third place in region 8-AAAAAA with a 9-3 record, one game behind Apalachee and two behind Noth Forsyth.
Our Panthers play NoFo this Tuesday on the road in a big region doubleheader.
