UPDATED TARDY POLICY IS BELOW: Let's show our Panther Pride by arriving to all classes on time!
All students are expected to be at school and in class on time. Students are considered tardy (late) to school if they are not IN their classroom when the bell rings to start school (8:00AM).
Procedures: Students arriving after the start of school must report to the front office for a tardy pass. Any student arriving after 8:00AM is considered tardy/late to school. The corrective action for checking in late and/or tardiness is:
1st & 2nd Tardy: Student Warning
3rd Tardy: Student Warning, Phone Call to Parent/Guardian
4th Tardy: 1 lunch detention, Phone Call to Parent/Guardian
5th Tardy: 2 lunch detentions, Phone Call to Parent/Guardian
6th Tardy: 3 lunch detentions, Phone Call to Parent/Guardian
7th Tardy: 4 lunch detentions, Phone Call to Parent/Guardian
8th Tardy & over: Administrative Discretion
Unexcused Tardies: JCHS does allow for 3 parent notes for tardies per year for issues such as missing the bus, oversleeping, car trouble, etc. A verified parent note will allow for the tardy to be excused, and must be presented to the front desk at the time of check-in. Once all 3 of the parent notes have been used, no more parent notes will be allowed for the school year.
Students are expected to abide by the policies and procedures as outlined in the Student Handbook.
