Congratulations to the 14 JCHS students who have been recognized as one of 62,000 students from across the country to earn academic honors from the College Board’s National Recognition Programs!  These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them stand out during the admissions process. Colleges and scholarship programs use these honors to identify students from underrepresented groups through College Board’s Student Search Service.

Our students have earned this recognition by excelling on their PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10, or AP Exams and in their classrooms and meeting one or more of the following criteria:


Eligible students are invited to apply during their sophomore or junior year, and are awarded at the beginning of the next school year.

National Read a Book Day is Tuesday, September 6th! This annual awareness day encourages all of us to take a break and get reading! Whether you’re rediscovering old favorites or delving into new bestsellers, National Read a Book Day is the perfect excuse to sit back, relax, and get lost in a book!

Need a book? Did you know that students can get FREE ebooks, audiobooks, and digital magazines from our school library? It is so easy! Check out titles from Sora at home, on the weekends, or during school breaks with no worry about misplacing a book – these digital titles automatically return at the end of the lending period! Environmental Club

Environmental Club's purpose is to inform students about environmental issues, collect plastic and paper for recycling, and to participate in community-wide environmental initiatives. They collect recycling around our school building every Friday and meet once a month. We appreciate their hard work and environmental leadership! This club is sponsored by Mrs. Peterson.

THE PAW PODCAST IS HERE

The latest edition of the PAW Podcast can be found HERE.  This week, Volleyball players Sydney McCutcheon, Cadence Thao, and Ruthie Fowler, as well as head coach Ron Fowler, speak about the successful season so far.

FOOTBALL

Panther football came up just short on Friday at 3-0 Central Gwinnett, despite a great effort.  Elijah Ling and MJ Spurlin scored touchdowns for the Panthers, but the final score was 17-13 Black Knights.  

We host Mountain View this Friday AT HOME!

VOLLEYBALL IMPROVES TO 18-2

Panther Volleyball picked up 3 more wins this week, upping their record to 18-2 on the season.  They are currently in second place in Region 8-AAAAAA.

CROSS COUNTRY

SOFTBALL TRAVELS TO COAL MTN. 

Cross Country had another successful day at North Oconee last Thursday.  Sophomore Erin O'Brien led the way for the girls, finishing 7th out of 156 runners.  Freshman Brody Wooten led the boys, finishing in the top 50 out of 186 runners!

Varsity and JV softball travel to Coal Mountain this Thursday for another big region matchup with North Forsyth.  Our Lady Panthers are working hard and are on the cusp of a big breakout!
