The Jackson County Mountain Bike Team will kick off the 2023 Season down in Milledgeville at Bartram Forest this Saturday!
Immunization Deadline
By September 8, 2023, all 11th graders must submit their up-to-date immunization records to the school.
Please note that on September 18, 2023, any student without proper immunization records, religious exemption, or a confirmed doctor's appointment date will not be allowed to return to school.
For children aged 16 years and older, who are entering 11th grade (including new entrants), a booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4) is required, unless the initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday.
JCHS ESports Begins
JCHS Esports Fall Season will begin the week of September 4th. We do not have practice or matches on Mondays. Tuesday, September 5th is League of Legends and Splatoon 3 only. Wednesday, September 6th is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate only. Thursday, September 7th is Rocket League and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe only. This will be the same for the rest of the Fall season. We meet until 5:00 PM for all games except League of Legends (Tuesday) which meets until 5:30 PM.

Congressional App Challenge
Representative Collins is excited to host the Congressional App Challenge for middle and high school students in Georgia’s 10th Congressional District. This nationwide event allows students to compete with their peers by creating a software application, or "app," for the internet, personal computer, tablet, mobile device, or other platform of their choice.

Congratulations to Jean Pierre (JP) Aguilar-Jimenez – September's Rotary Student of the Month for Jackson County High School! JP chose Mr. Alex Nichols as his most influential teacher.
IB Learner of the Month
Congrats to Yazmine Pittman for being the IB Learner of the Month! This week in IB Biology, Yazmine began planning for an independent investigation into variations in growth and transformation efficiency in two cell cultures. Her curiosity about the natural world shows the trait of "Inquirer" from the IB learner profile, and we're excited to see where her research takes her.
PAS PASIC Scholarship
Chloe Kubiak, a freshman percussionist in the JCHS band, was awarded the PAS (Percussive Arts Society) PASIC scholarship! The PASIC Scholarships have been established by Companies, in Honor of Individuals, and by PAS Chapters who recognize the value of PAS and PASIC . Scholarship winners will receive an individual PASIC registration, PASIC Souvenir T-shirt and an award for travel/lodging/food assistance. Congratulations Chloe on this awesome honor!

Senior Pictures:
Your formal (tux or black drape) photo for the yearbook must be taken by Cady Studios. Your senior photos must be taken by November 1st to appear in the yearbook. You may submit a casual photo by an outside photographer. Instructions on how to do so will be sent in early October

VOLLEYBALL SURGES TO 19-1
Panther volleyball added three more victories this week, moving to 19-1 on the season.
The Panthers are currently ranked #7 in Class AAAAAA and tied for first place in Region 8.
CHAVIS, COOK RECIEVE STATE RINGS
At Friday's football game, Lilly Chavis and Raven Cook returned to JCHS to receive their 2023 State Wrestling Championship rings.
Raven ran the table last year, finishing 32-0, while Lilly won her second consecutive State title with a 35-3 record on the season.
FOOTBALL RALLIES, WINS IN 2OT
For the second straight week, the Panther Football team played extra football to determine a winner....this time reversing their fortunes and beating Central Gwinnett in two overtimes.
Down 20-6 in the fourth quarter, the Panthers rallied to tie the game. The game ended on the 5th touchdown of the game for MJ Spurlin, who added 206 yards rushing on the evening.
UNDEFEATED WEEK FOR SOFTBALL
Another strong week for Panther softball, as they continue to improve each game.
On Tuesday, they split a doubleheader with state ranked Apalachee and on Thursday, they hit the road and defeated the Habersham Central Raiders.
The Panthers are currently tied for first place in Region 8-AAAAAA.
