The final two days of our PASS Program will be May 9th and May 11th. These are the last two days of after school support via PASS. Thank you so much for allowing us to work with your students after school!

Last Monday was National School Principal's Day, and we want to recognize Mr. Jason Wester, the principal of Jackson County High School, for his outstanding leadership and dedication to education. He has created a positive and supportive learning environment, supported his teachers and staff, and fostered strong partnerships with the community. Thank you, Mr. Wester, for your commitment to education and service to the Jackson County community.

Mr. Joshua Todd, who made a significant impact on the Jackson County High School community, was named the next principal at Gum Springs Elementary. We wish him all the best in his new role!

Scholastic Images, our Official Letter Jacket partner, will be at JACKSON COUNTY, on FRIDAY, MAY 12th during all lunches and walk you through the easy ordering process.
Letter jacket orders need a $100 deposit along with proof that you have lettered, so bring your JC award letter, varsity letter certificate, or signed form(attached) along with any patches you may have at the time of order.
Whether you lettered in fine arts, or athletics, we encourage you to order your jacket now so you can wear it with PRIDE! Letter Jacket information is available at www.scholasticimages.com as well as in the front office.  Go PANTHERS!

Join your favorite Jaxco Dancers as they present their 2023 Spring Recital May 11 and 12 at 7 PM in the JCHS auditorium. Tickets on sale now at GO FAN and can also be purchased at the door with card. Please review the enclosed details regarding the Summer Success Program 2023 offered by Jackson County High School. The primary objective of this program is to assist students in recuperating credits, thereby enabling them to progress towards graduation. 

If you are interested in learning more about the Federal Programs here in Jackson County there will be a meeting held at the Empower Center on May 16th at 9:00am.

The Lady Panthers need your help!  We are looking to raise money to help with camps and other summer costs for our program.  We are going to be doing a shoot a thon on May 10th.  If you would like to support a Lady Panther by pledging money for each made shot or donate a set amount we would greatly appreciate your support.  Just scan the QR Code to support! 

Want to be a part of an award-winning program?  Make friends and memories that will last a lifetime?  The JCHS Colorguard will be hosting auditions May 8th-12th.  Interested students should report to the grand staircase on Monday, May 8th at 4:00 PM.  See Mrs. Pitman for more information.

 If you will be obtaining your learner's permit or driver's license within the next 30 days, scan the QR code or click HERE to request a certificate of school enrollment. 
Also, if you will be obtaining your learner's permit or driver's license over the SUMMER, please complete the request form and select "SUMMER" on the request form.  These will be dated for the last day of school and will be valid all summer.

AP and IB students begin will be testing May 1- 11. Please help JCAT support these students by sending in snacks or drinks by Wednesday, May 5. Donations can be dropped off in the front office or ordered online and shipped directly to the school. We're thrilled to announce that Spencer Muffuletto and Mrs. Beth Pitman have been named Mindset Heroes at Jackson County High School. Both are Mindset Honorees for "The Time is Now" mindset, which encourages individuals to embrace every moment, get into the zone, be vulnerable, and act purposefully. Congratulations to both of you!

We celebrated Decision Day at Jackson County High School on Monday, May 1st! It's a special day where seniors across the country announce their post-graduation plans. We are incredibly proud of ALL of our seniors and had the honor of recognizing those who will be Enrolled, Employed, or Enlisted next year. Although we couldn't snap a picture of every senior, we wanted to share a few examples of what some of them have planned after high school. The Class of 2023 has so much to be proud of! Congratulations seniors, we can't wait to see what the future holds for you. 

Some heroes don't need capes! On this Lunch Hero Day, we honor the amazing people who provide our students with healthy and delicious meals every day. A big thank you to all of our Jackson County High School Lunch Heroes for their hard work and dedication!

The Jackson County High School Jazz Band spent Tuesday afternoon performing music for the residents of Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care.

JCHS senior Jack Venable discusses his time throughout the Jackson County School System, beginning as a kindergartner at Gum Springs Elementary, his involvement in multiple clubs and organizations, and his influential teacher at JCHS. Check out the video here!

Last Friday's 2nd Annual Panther Games were a blast! Our Panther Games were skillfully planned and organized by our Chick-fil-A Leadership team and peer leaders, and they offered a thrilling field day experience for our adapted PE classes. We extend our gratitude to Chick-fil-A Braselton for their generosity in donating Chick-fil-A sandwiches to our students.

Rylee Roberts, JCHS senior, participates in two WBL blocks as a Teacher Apprentice. She is hosted by Mrs. Rechin and Mrs. Kelley at Gum Springs ES in Kindergarten. Rylee’s goal for this WBL placement is to evaluate her career ambition in teaching as a profession.

Important Graduation Information/Updates Document 

Please read the document carefully as it includes dates, report times, and clothing requirements for each event.  If you have any questions after reading the document, please reach out to Mrs. Pitman.  

​To earn a Modern Language Pathway Cord students must have an unweighted average of 85 or higher in three classes of the same language. Please bring a copy of your transcript to a Modern Language teacher if you think you are eligible and wish to purchase a cord. The cost of the cord is $5.00 and you may pay using Schoolpay.  The deadline to order the cord is May 8, 2023. Please contact Mrs. Hoppe with any questions. 

Seniors: Please check with the Panther Café or on Titan to see if you have a balance on your account.
Your account balance may be reimbursed to you, transferred to a sibling's account, or donated to the school lunch fund. This must be done prior to graduation.

Panther Press Digital Announcements

We have SO MANY amazing opportunities and events occurring at JCHS.  The presentation below is a "one-stop-shop" to learn about the "happenings" at JCHS.  We will house all of our digital flyers in this section of the Panther Press each week.  Also, the digital flyers are displayed throughout the school on our Visix boards

Friday was a thrilling day at JCHS as history was made with the first-ever Flag Football tryouts! The girls who participated showed immense raw talent and potential, and are sure to excel in the sport. A big thank you goes out to Coach Julie McCutcheon, Coach Todd McCutcheon, and Coach Chad Daniel for their efforts in making this happen and leading the tryouts. It's exciting to see the girls take over and show what they're capable of in the world of Flag Football!

Counseling Announcements

Jackson County School System leaders proposed new attendance zone lines for the 2023-24, 2024-25 school years. Visit www.jacksonschoolsga.org/schoolzones to view the proposed lines.

The 2023-2024 JCSS Program of Study is available.  The Jackson County School System has provided the JCSS Program of Study as a planning guide for our families and students to use. The JCSS Program of Study shows the connection between class work and future success, pointing out the relevance of academic learning in the classroom.
