  MAP Scores Coming Home  

The Jackson County School System uses MAP testing to gauge a student’s learning throughout their time in the system, and throughout each academic year.  Students in grades 9th through 11th currently in an English class are bringing home their first MAP Reading results from this school year. 

We kindly request you set aside some time to review the report together and engage in a meaningful conversation about their results and future academic goals. Your support and guidance play a crucial role in helping them succeed on their educational journey.

If you are interested in playing girls' basketball this year, please join the coaches in the Health Room at 7:30 am on Wednesday, August 30th.

  Community Engagement Session  

The Jackson County School System will be hosting a Community Engagement Session, as part of its Strategic Planning process, on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. inside the Student Center at the Empower College and Career Center.  Calling all Juniors and Seniors! Testing registration is open! This form is only to be completed by 11th graders wishing to take the PSAT or the ACT OR 12th graders wishing to take the ACT. The honor recognizes their academic excellence and hard work in high school, and that’s a cause for celebration. 27 students at Jackson County High School earned academic honors from CollegeBoard’s National Recognition Programs.

  JCSS Work Based Learning Program Review 

A review of the 2022-23 Work Based Learning program within the Jackson County School System. During the last school year, our students had a $2.7 million economic impact to the local committee and earned a combined $674,544 across 135 employers. 

  Work-Based Learning Spotlight 

JCHS junior, Jose Magallanes Bolivar, is enrolled in the summer WBL program as a Construction Youth Apprentice. Jose works at G.P.’s Enterprises, Inc. a heavy civil construction company working for VP Jonathan Flanigan. Jose is pursuing this career industry through WBL and his CTAE Heavy Equipment & Construction classes.

VOLLEYBALL SURGES TO 16-1

Our Volleyball team kept rolling this week, with a record on the season of 16-1 and entering the state rankings at #4 in Class AAAAAA.

This week the Panthers defeated Habersham, Athens Academy, Athens Christian, Collins Hill, Apalachee, and Arabia Mountain!  Our only loss came at the hands of #3 ranked Lakeside (Evans).

CROSS COUNTRY SETTING THE PACE

Our cross country squads took to the fields of Whitesburg this Saturday.  


Leading the way for the girls was freshman Loralai Eager while the boys were led by sophomore Adam Thomas.


Multiple runners set PR's this week and it was a great day competing.


 FOOTBALL LOSES IN 2 OVERTIMES 

Varsity Football  travelled to Duluth Friday night and participated in a game that will go down in the books.  

Duluth scored late to send the game to overtime, and both teams scored twice.

The Panthers decided to go for the two point conversion and the win, but came up just short, 35-34.   

It was an amazing effort by our team.

UNDEFEATED WEEK FOR SOFTBALL

The Lady Panther Softball team had a GREAT week, going 3-0.

On Tuesday, we travelled to Mill Creek and pulled off a come from behind 5-4 win.

On Saturday, the Panthers played Collins Hill and Irwin County at Victor Lord Park, and easily won both games 9-4 and 9-1 respectively.
