September 12th is the deadline for Juniors to register for the the PSAT.
September is Attendance Awareness Month!
Each week during September we will highlight the importance of attending school. Building strong, trusting relationships that promote a feeling of belonging is fundamental to improving student attendance & engagement. #SchoolEveryDay
We will celebrate students' with weekly perfect attendance during the month of September! Students with perfect attendance will automatically enter lotteries to win items like Braves Tickets, Chick-Fil-A cards, Zaxby's Zax Snaks, and surprise big tickets items! Lottery selection dates are below and multiple students will win each week:
Sept. 12th lottery selection for the the week of Sept. 5-9
Sept. 19th lottery selection for the week of Sept. 12-16
Sept. 26th lottery selection for the week of Sept. 19-23
Oct. 3rd lottery selection for the week of Sept. 26-30

Advanced Placement Courses (AP) Exam Registration is LIVE
For students enrolled in AP courses, registration for 1st Semester AP exams is now available through Total Registration. Parents and students can locate the AP testing exam schedule, AP Informational Letter, and link to the Total Registration website at our JCHS AP web page.
Students must be registered and paid in full on Total Registration by November 1st.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam Registration is LIVE
For students enrolled in IB courses, registration is available for IB exams through Total Registration. Parents and students can locate the IB testing exam schedule, IB Informational Letter, and link to the Total Registration website at our JCHS IB web page.
Students must be registered and paid in full on Total Registration by November 1st.
ATTENTION JCHS CAR RIDERS:
Please use the official car rider line to drop off and pick up students. All other areas are not authorized for student drop-off or pick-up between the hours of 7:00AM and 3:30PM. Cars dropping off students in the morning spend no more than 3-5 minutes in our car line, and the car pickup line in the afternoon is usually clear by 3:23! The official car rider line is supervised during arrival and dismissal.
Please refrain from making U-turns or passing other cars in the car rider line.
Please refrain from picking up students in unsupervised areas and making U-turns on Skelton Road.
Following these guidelines will avoid vehicular accidents while keeping pedestrians and students safe.

JCHS is hosting a West Side Pride Fall Festival on Wednesday Oct 26th, 6-8PM, at the JCHS Bus lanes!

Key Club
Key Club recognized Suicide Prevention Week last week by sharing a mental health tip each day during the announcements and creating a coloring wall outside of the LLC. Students were encouraged to use coloring as a way to relieve stress in order to promote a positive lifestyle. Students also received an email with resources for staying mentally healthy!
The Probe College Fairs are great opportunities for students to attend in order to get more information about many options available after high school. There are two local fairs in Gainesville and Athens.

The Rotary Student of the Month program recognizes achievement, leadership, and helps to support high school students in their transition to higher education.

The Everything Is Possible Mindset teaches that we are all capable of living extraordinary lives. Robert Watson and Natalie Peterson were selected as Mindset Heroes for representing the Everything is Possible Mindset at Jackson County High School.

FOOTBALL CONTINUES TO PLAY WELL
Panther football came up just short on Friday at against 7A Mountain View, despite a great effort. A late touchdown that would have tied the game was called back, but our Panthers held their own.
We host our first REGION GAME (N.Forsyth) this Friday AT HOME!
The JV Panthers upped their record to 3-0 with a final minute, 22-21 win over Cherokee Bluff.
VOLLEYBALL IMPROVES TO 22-2
Panther Volleyball picked up 4 more wins this week, defeating Banks County, Stephens County, Gainesville, and Habersham Central. The team is currently ranked 11th in Class 6A.
A GREAT DAY FOR CROSS COUNTRY
Cross Country ran at Milton Saturday. The girls finished 8th overall in a tough field of 20 schools. Erin O'Brien finished 7th out of 160+ individual runners. Anna Warren and Morgan Eldridge finished Top 25. The Boys were once again led by Freshmen Brody Wooten and Adam Thomas.
BIG REGION WINS FOR SOFTBALL
A HUGE NIGHT at North Forsyth for our Panther Softball Program. The varsity team defeated the Region #1 Raiders 2-1, and the JV finished up the night with a win as well.

REMINDER INFORMATION:
The Fall 2022 PSAT is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25th.
Students enrolled in the 9th and 10th grades are automatically registered and will take the the PSAT on Tuesday, October 25th.
The PSAT is an optional test for 11th grade students and 11th grade students are encouraged to participate. If you are an 11th grade student that would like to register for the PSAT, please complete registration for the Fall 2022 PSAT by September 12th (the registration system will close at exactly 11:59PM on September 12th). After you have completed registration, you must pay the $18 fee online through SchoolPay. PSAT materials will ONLY be ordered after exam registration is completed AND payment is submitted. Registration for the PSAT for 11th graders is now available. Please click here to register for the PSAT.

Hali Chase is excited to join Panther Nation this year! This is her 10th year teaching. Mrs. Chase is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina and she received her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University. Mrs. Chase earned a master's degree from Georgia Southern University and a specialist degree from Piedmont University. During undergrad, she lived in Madrid, Spain and fell in love with the Spanish language and culture! She hopes to bring that love to her students and light their fire for all things Spanish! Mrs. Chase is married to her best friend and they have two adorable kiddos! They have a wild 3 year old little boy and sweet 2 month old little girl. They also have a loving 6 year old pup and Mrs. Chase loves to run outside with her! When she is not teaching she loves to be outdoors and spending time with her family.
Mrs. Crawford is excited to be a part of the Social Studies Department as a US History Teacher this year. She graduated from the University of North Georgia with her degree in History with Teacher Certification. She also has her Master’s in International Affairs. Mrs. Crawford taught for 9 years in Hall County before coming back home to Jackson County to teach at her alma mater. US History is her favorite class to teach because of the stories and the connections that we can make today. When she is not teaching she enjoys reading and being outside with her husband, Jason, and her son, Cole.
Mrs. DeShun Grove is an experienced paraprofessional. She recently joined the SPED department at Jackson County High School and is excited to be a Panther. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Human Services at Shorter University. She enjoys solving puzzles, playing with her dogs, and spending time with her family.
