Purpose: The purpose of PASS is to offer after school academic support that provides additional reinforcement of skills needed for academic success. Support will be available for English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Spanish.
Dates Offered: Tuesday and Thursday from February 7th to May 11th
Time: 3:15-4:15
How do I register my student? Please complete THIS FORM if you would like for your student to attend after school support for Week 13 (May 9th and 11th). The form will close on May 3rd at 5:00PM for Week 13 for any student needing bus transportation (the form will remain open for students that can provide their own transportation). If a student needing bus transportation is NOT registered by the deadline, then BUS TRANSPORTATION WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.
Please note: Food will not be provided. If desired, please bring a snack from home.
IMPORTANT EXAM NOTES
ALL EOC TESTING WILL OCCUR ON THE JCHS CAMPUS. Students testing for EOC exams that normally attend EMPOWER in the mornings will need to remain on the JCHS campus to take their exam.
NO early exams will be administered
NO check-outs are allowed during exams
If a student is absent for a scheduled exam, a zero will be entered in IC until the exam is made-up
List of IB Exam Dates (not included on the printable exam schedule)
FINAL EXAMS: EXEMPTION POLICY
In order to earn an exam exemption in a class, the student must have an A (weighted average) in the course.
A final exam does NOT include an EOC, EOPA, or other mandated assessment.
EARLY RELEASE PROCEDURES: May 22nd and May 23rd
Car riders and students who drive may leave campus at 10:55
Lunch: 10:55-11:20 (all students) with a release to buses by 11:25

AP and IB students begin will be testing May 1- 11. Please help JCAT support these students by sending in snacks or drinks by Wednesday, May 5. There will be a Women's Wrestling interest meeting on May 2nd during advisement in the health room of the main gym. Any ladies interested should plan to attend.
Student Council Executive Committee applications are now available! If you are interested in serving on the 2023-2024 Student Council EC, please submit your application by Friday, May 5th. If you have any questions, see Ms. Lord in room 4203 or send her an email.
Any Jaxco High School or Middle School Ladies that would like to join the Lady Panther Wrestling Team please contact Coach Muehling or Coach Krause and complete an interest form.

Georgia Lance won First Place in the Performing Arts category at UNG's Modern Language Day. Georgia sang "Mon Histoire" from Les Misérables.
Ana Holman, JCHS senior, works afternoons at Chick-Fil-A for WBL. She just finished basketball and is involved with a church. Ana plans to attend UGA to pursue education as a profession to become a FACS HS Teacher or Elementary Teacher.

Important Graduation Information/Updates Document
Please read the document carefully as it includes dates, report times, and clothing requirements for each event. If you have any questions after reading the document, please reach out to Mrs. Pitman.
To earn a Modern Language Pathway Cord students must have an unweighted average of 85 or higher in three classes of the same language. Please bring a copy of your transcript to a Modern Language teacher if you think you are eligible and wish to purchase a cord. The cost of the cord is $5.00 and you may pay using Schoolpay. The deadline to order the cord is May 8, 2023. Please contact Mrs. Hoppe with any questions.
Seniors: Please check with the Panther Café or on Infinite Campus to see if you have a balance on your account.
Your account balance may be reimbursed to you, transferred to a sibling's account, or donated to the school lunch fund. This must be done prior to graduation.
Parents/Guardians: If you have auto-pay set up child’s Panther Cafe account please plan to disable this feature by April 21, 2023

We also invite you to wear a college logo t-shirt, company logo t-shirt or military branch t-shirt on Monday.
We are super excited to celebrate any and all of you who are Enrolled, Enlisted, or Employed for next year! This is a new Senior activity/tradition that our Counseling Dept wants to start this year so come join us and let's have some fun!! We are so PROUD of you!!!

We have SO MANY amazing opportunities and events occurring at JCHS. The presentation below is a "one-stop-shop" to learn about the "happenings" at JCHS. JAXCO NAMED "MOST POSITIVE SCHOOL" IN EAST ATLANTA REGION
POSITIVE ATHLETE GEORGIA recently named it's regional winners, and Jackson County High School was named "most positive school" for the East Atlanta region. The region consists of 10 counties.
Jason Guzzardo was named most positive boys coach in the region, and senior Ana Holman was named most positive girls basketball player.
REGION TRACK AND FIELD MEET RESULTS
Several Panthers performed well at the Region 8-AAAAAA Track and Field Championships this past week at Apalachee.
Highlighting the two day event were several region championships:
Girls 4x100m (Ava Borah, Jalyn Robinson, Angel Mattox, and Alivia Harrell)
Girls 4x200m (Kamryn Shaw Foreman, Sole Bailey, Angel Mattox, and Jalyn Robinson)
Girls 100m and 300m Hurdles (Sole Bailey)
Several other Panthers advanced to State Sectionals next week.
THREE PANTHERS SIGN LETTERS OF INTENT
On Friday, three Panthers signed collegiate letters of intent to continue their playing careers at the next level.
Harrison Mosley signed with Thomas University swimming, Raven Cook signed with Life University Wrestling, and Ivan Altamirano signed with Brewton Parker College Soccer.
Ten Panther seniors have now signed to play college athletics this year!

The 2023-2024 JCSS Program of Study is available. The Jackson County School System has provided the JCSS Program of Study as a planning guide for our families and students to use. The JCSS Program of Study shows the connection between class work and future success, pointing out the relevance of academic learning in the classroom.
