 AP Courses Exam Registration is LIVE! 

JCHS AP Letter 2023-2024

For students enrolled in AP courses, registration for 1st Semester AP exams is now available through Total Registration. Parents and students can locate the AP testing exam schedule,  AP Informational Letter, and link to the Total Registration website at our JCHS AP webpage

Students must be registered and paid in full on Total Registration by November 1st.

 Literacy Month 

Governor Brian Kemp has officially declared September as Literacy Month in the state of Georgia. Literacy is all about how we use language to understand things and share our thoughts. It is a vital skill that helps us learn, explore the world, understand what others are saying, and express our own ideas. 

During this special month, we're highlighting fundamental literacy skills and emphasizing their real-world relevance, aiding students in more effectively navigating their academic and personal paths. 

 International Club Meeting 

The International Club meeting will be held on September 12th at 3:10-4pm. The theme is Hispanic Heritage Month. It's not to late to join the club! Please be sure to have your ride pick you up by 4.

 Purchase Your Pink Out Shirt 

It's that time of year again! Our Pink Out football game is set for Friday, October 6 against Shiloh High School. Cheerleading will be selling Pink Out T-shirts from now until Monday, September 25.

If you would like to place an order for a Pink Out T-shirt, scan the QR Code and fill out the Google Form. All payments must be made by Monday, September 25. Contact Coach Chase at hchase@jcss.us with questions.

Jackson County High School would like to congratulate David Tra and Aly Lord for being recognized as the 7 Mindsets honorees for the Everything Is Possible mindset! The Everything Is Possible Mindset orients us toward understanding the importance of and increasing the expectations we have for ourselves, our world, and the future.

 ESP CLUB 

The ESP Club had an interest meeting this week, and WOW, the turnout was amazing!

Our school community is full of incredible individuals who are passionate about inclusion and raising awareness for kids with Special Needs. It's truly heartwarming to see so many of you wanting to be involved and make a difference.

📅 Don't forget, our first official meeting is on Wednesday, September 20th, from 3:15 to 4:00 pm. Mark your calendars and be part of this fantastic journey!

 Congratulations to the newest Inductees in National Honor Society! 

This week, the JCHS National Honor Society inducted 63 new members to the club. These sophomores and juniors were invited to join based on their scholarship, character, service, and leadership observed since beginning high school. This is the largest induction group we have ever had! 

 Suicide Prevention Week 

Key Club is bringing awareness to Suicide Prevention Week by providing a coloring wall outside the LLC.  Coloring is a great way to relieve stress! Students are welcome to grab a coloring sheet from the wall and either keep it or return it to the folder in order to be added to the display.  

In addition to the coloring wall, Key Club will be presenting mental health tips throughout the week to help students cope with stress, anxiety, self-doubt, and burnout.  Key Club will also share some online resources on how students can live a balanced life.  The Suicide and Crisis Lifeline can be reached by calling or texting 988.  All JCHS students will receive an email with this information.

  Work-Based Learning Spotlight 

JCHS students Kamryn Shaw-Foreman (12th), Cale Ayton (11th), & Madison Ming (11th) are in WBL as Architecture Apprentices. They are understudying from Rick Sellars, a retired professional architect, and facilitated through Mrs. Neufeld. Each completed or will complete her CTAE pathway. Their multi-year project is to create accurate drawings of the old and new mill buildings in Jefferson.

  2023 District 14 Honor Chorus 

Congratulations to our chorus students who auditioned and were accepted into the 2023 District 14 Honor Chorus!!

VOLLEYBALL MOVES TO 20-1

Panther volleyball added one more victory this week defeating Apalachee in a Region Game, moving to 20-1 on the season.

We will travel to North Forsyth on Tuesday for a BIG region match-up!

FLAG FOOTBALL

Flag Football debuts next month! This weekend, our coaches and some team members got some work in at the Atlanta Falcons skills clinic. Can't wait to see this group on the field!


JAXCO CHEER

Jaxco Cheer competed at their first tournament at Lambert over the weekend.  JV returned home with a 2nd place trophy.  Varsity wowed the crowd on the mats against some extremely competitive teams.  

 STATE CHAMPION HONORED!

This week during the JCHS faculty meeting we were able to present Jose Pacheco with his 2023 WRESTLING STATE CHAMPIONSHIP RING! Jose was out of town Friday night but made it back home to JAXCO for this honor! We are #ProudtobeJC
