End of 1st Semester Grades Reported
Purpose: To offer after school academic support that provides additional reinforcement of skills needed for academic success. Support will be available for English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Dates Offered: We are extending the after school student support for one more day on Tuesday, December 13th. We hope you will join us, especially those students who feel they need more support prior to the Algebra One End of Course test. December 13th will be the last day of tutoring for 1st Semester.
Time: 3:15-4:15
How do I register my student? Please complete THIS FORM if you would like for your student to attend after school support on December 13th. The form will close on December 7th at 5:00PM (the form will remain open for students that can provide their own transportation). If a student needing bus transportation is NOT registered by the deadline, then BUS TRANSPORTATION WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.
Please note: Food will not be provided. If desired, please bring a snack from home.

IMPORTANT EXAM NOTES
ALL EOC TESTING WILL OCCUR ON THE JCHS CAMPUS. Students testing for EOC exams that normally attend EMPOWER in the mornings will need to remain on the JCHS campus to take their exam.
NO early exams will be administered
NO check-outs are allowed during exams
All AP and IB exams are required to be administered in the Spring. List of AP Exam Dates and List of IB Exam Dates
FINAL EXAMS: EXEMPTION POLICY
In order to earn an exam exemption in a class, the student must have an A (weighted average) in the course.
A final exam does NOT include an EOC, EOPA, or other mandated assessment.
Students and parents/guardians will be notified in advance if a student is exempt from a final exam.
EARLY RELEASE PROCEDURES: December 19th and 20th
Car riders and students who drive may leave campus at 10:55
Lunch: 10:55-11:20 (all students) with a release to buses by 11:25

Do you love the 80's? What about Adam Sandler? The Panther Players will be performing the Wedding Singer in April! There will be an interest meeting Monday, December 5th from 3:15 - 4:00 in the Blackbox! This meeting is for ANYONE interested in performing or working backstage! Come and get some information and hear about the exciting things that will be happening!
There will be a JC Tennis interest meeting with Coach Brooks and Coach Peterson on Monday, December 5 at 3:10 PM in Coach Brooks' room 5217 (upper C).
If you want to play JCHS Girls Soccer this season, there will be a mandatory meeting on Tuesday the 6th in room 5210. You can attend at 7:40 AM, during advisement, or at 3:10 PM
The Plastic Challenge is ON! Plastic bags, ziplocks, plastic overwrap...bag it up and bring it in to your advisement teacher! A club member will collect it on Friday! The first Sundae Party (to the advisement who collects the most) will be Friday, Dec. 9th! Next winner will be at the end of January!

If you will be obtaining your learner's permit or driver's license over the Christmas Break, please be sure you request your Certificate of School Enrollment on or before Friday, December 16th. JCHS Panther Baseball is hosting a Youth Winter Hitting Clinic on December 17, 2022! The camp will be broken down into two sessions based on age. However, due to any possible schedule conflicts with REC basketball games, we can allow for times that work best with schedules. The camp will be hosted by JCHS Varsity coaches, JCHS high school baseball players, and former JCHS players playing at the collegiate level. CLICK HERE for more information!

JCHS Chorus members were invited to sing at Jefferson Christmas on Saturday. They wowed the crowds with their beautiful vocals and Christmas carols.

JCHS Riley Morgan has a lot going on with school, softball, and Work-Based Learning (WBL). As a junior, she is taking advanced classes and WBL to help prepare for her senior year and post-secondary school. Visit her at our WBL partner, Jaxco Nutrition, and support them by getting a loaded energy tea or meal replacement shake.

We have SO MANY amazing opportunities and events occurring at JCHS. The presentation below is a "one-stop-shop" to learn about the "happenings" at JCHS. We will house all of our digital flyers in this section of the Panther Press each week. Also, the digital flyers are displayed throughout the school on our Visix boards.
BASKETBALL BACK IN ACTION
Our girls and boys basketball teams played hard, but lost two games this week. Both games were on the road. Our girls team lost to 6-2 Banks County and 4-2 Flowery Branch, while our boys lost to the same schools, who have a combined record of 11-1. There has been lots of growth for our young squads, and they will continue to fight hard!
WRESTLING DOMINATES THANKSGIVING
The 28th Annual Panther Invitational had 24 schools battling in Panther Pavilion on Friday and Saturday. In the end, our Panthers won in dominating fashion. Nine individual Panthers placed, and four were champions of their weight class.
Our Girls wrestlers performed well at North Atlanta as well. Raven Cook picked up a championship, Lilly Chavis was runner up, and Peyton Hallen-Banks made it to the blood round.
ALL REGION ALL ACADEMIC TEAMS
THIRTY FIVE Panthers were recently honored as All Region, All Academic Team members for fall sports! Those selected had a 3.8 GPA or better and lettered in a fall sport this year!
SWIM CATS UPDATE
The SwimCats were in Habersham County Saturday -- 9 PR's and 8 Heat Winners highlighted a great day at the pool!
Desi Quiles qualified for state in another event (100 Back) and was the overall winner in that event.
The boys team finished 4th out of 10 schools, while the girls were 7th out of 11.
Congratulations to the WJMS swim team for their FOURTH consecutive 1st place finish!

The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture is committed to investing in students pursuing careers in agriculture or a related field. For the 2023 year, GFA is offering $70,000 worth of scholarships.
