Dear Jackson County High School Families,
I am excited to transition to the principal of Jackson County High School (JCHS) for the upcoming school year. I am thankful to the Jackson County Board of Education for the opportunity to continue to serve the students, staff and community of JCHS. Since moving to Jackson County a few years ago, I consider it an honor to have served as a teacher and assistant principal at JCHS while working alongside Mr. Wester. I want to thank Mr. Wester for his leadership at JCHS for the past four years. I am appreciative for the opportunity to work with such an esteemed group of educators and continue the great work of Mr. Wester and the JCHS staff.
As the principal of Jackson County High School, I am dedicated to ensuring that each student has ample opportunities to be a Panther, both inside the classroom and within the school community. As a mother of two students in the Jackson County School System, my investment in ensuring a quality education for all students is a priority. I know how important it is for our students to enjoy a safe, supportive, and equitable learning environment that provides instruction based on best practices in education. I also understand that being a Panther looks different for each student and I value the dedication of our school and our school system for ensuring that each student has an opportunity to be involved with our community. I understand that being a Panther is a point of pride for our students and alumni, and I look forward to carrying on the traditions already established while building new traditions to honor the legacy of JCHS. Our community is growing quickly, but our dedication to a premier education and high school experience will not waiver.
After 21 years in education, I have learned that success is a collaborative effort. Your partnership as parents and guardians will contribute greatly not only to the success of your own student, but to our school and community as well. Educating our students is a partnership and I believe the communication between our school and our families is a critical aspect to this educational partnership.
I look forward to partnering with our JCHS community to ensure our students receive the best educational experience possible. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Melissa Gillespie
