Purpose: To offer after school academic support that provides additional reinforcement of skills needed for academic success. Support will be available for English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Dates Offered: Tuesday and Thursday from September 20th to December 8th
Time: 3:15-4:15
How do I register my student? Please complete THIS FORM if you would like for your student to attend after school support for Week 7 (November 7-11). The form will close on November 2nd at 5:00PM for Week 7 (the form will remain open for students that can provide their own transportation). If a student needing bus transportation is NOT registered by the deadline, then BUS TRANSPORTATION WILL NOT BE PROVIDED.
Please note: Food will not be provided. If desired, please bring a snack from home.

October 31st Reminder
Students should follow the dress code outlined in the Student Handbook on October 31st.
The following items are NOT appropriate for the school day: face or body painting, costume masks, or costume props.
The JCHS International Club is hosting the collection of shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child from October 31st - November 15th! The shoeboxes are filled with school supplies, toys, toiletry, etc for children all over the world! JCHS Softball Team collects tabs for the Ronald McDonald House each year. These tabs help pay electric bills, costs for families to stay for free, and much more. IMPORTANT EXAM NOTES
ALL EOC TESTING WILL OCCUR ON THE JCHS CAMPUS. Students testing for EOC exams that normally attend EMPOWER in the mornings will need to remain on the JCHS campus to take their exam.
NO early exams will be administered
NO check-outs are allowed during exams

FINAL EXAMS: EXEMPTION POLICY
In order to earn an exam exemption in a class, the student must have an A (weighted average) in the course.
A final exam does NOT include an EOC, EOPA, or other mandated test.
Students and parents/guardians will be notified in advance if a student is exempt from a final exam.
EARLY RELEASE PROCEDURES: December 19th and 20th
Car riders and students who drive may leave campus at 10:55
Lunch: 10:55-11:20 (all students) with a release to buses at 11:20

VOLLEYBALL UPDATE
Congratulations to Sophomore Paisley Gillespie and Junior Sydney McCutcheon, who were both selected by the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association to play in the Sophomore/Junior All State All Star Game in two weeks! In addition, Sydney was selected All State by the Georgia Volleyball Coaches Association!
FOOTBALL TRAVELS TO GAINESVILLE
Varsity Football will play their final game of the season this week at Gainesville. Kickoff is at 7:30pm.
CROSS COUNTRY UPDATE
Girls Cross Country finished the Region Championship as Region 8-AAAAAA Runners Up and earned a berth to the State Championship in Carrollton. The State Cross Country meet will take place this Saturday at 1:15pm.
SOFTBALL UPDATE
Panther Softball finished their season last week at Pope High School in the Class AAAAAA State Tournament. This marked the 9th season out of the last 11 that our softball program qualified for the state tournament, this being in the highest classification in school history.

Danielle Tuthill is in her 16th year of teaching. She has taught Physical Science at the middle school level most of her career and she is excited to branch out into a new role teaching at the High School Level. She earned my Bachelor's degree in History at the University of Georgia (GO DAWGS). She earned my Master's degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University. She has been married to her husband Matt for 15 years, but they have been together almost 23 years. She has two daughters. Shelby is 12 and is in 7th grade at West Jackson Middle. Emory is 9 and is in 3rd grade at Gum Springs. She just moved into the area. As a family they are so excited to be in the Jaxco Community. She is looking forward to being able to work and pour back into the community she lives in.
Christopher Wilson is a graduate of Jackson County Comprehensive High School the Class of 1999. He attended the University of Georgia and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in 2013. He attended Columbus State and obtained his Master’s degree in 2018. He has taught for 9 years teaching in Social Studies in the following courses: Government, U.S. History in Film, World Geography, and World History. Mr. Wilson has 5 years of coaching Wrestling too.
Madison Wittman is honored to have the privilege of being one of the school counselors here at her alma mater, Jackson County High School this school year! She has a bachelor's degree in Human Service Delivery and Administration from the University of North Georgia, and a master's degree in School Counseling from Liberty University. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her twin sister, traveling and soaking in the newly wed life! With all of that being said, she is so excited to be a panther and follow her passion of being a school counselor. She is thrilled to get to know everyone this school year! Go Panthers!
