EXAM EXEMPTION POLICY
High school seniors with an A average in the course will be exempt from the final exam for that course. Students in grades 9-11 may not exempt final exams.
A final exam does NOT include an EOC, EOPA, or other mandated test.
Students and parents/guardians will be notified in advance if a student is exempt from a final exam.
EARLY RELEASE PROCEDURES: December 19th & 20th
Car riders and students who drive may leave campus at 10:55
Lunch: 10:55-11:20 (all students) with a release to buses by 11:25

JCHS to Sponsor Jaxco Holiday Market
Jackson County High School is preparing for the holiday season with a new community event. JCHS will host the First Annual Jaxco Holiday Market, as part of Small Business Saturday, on Nov. 25. The Jaxco Holiday Market will be available from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
So far, there are over 20 vendors who have paid for booth fees and over 20 more have expressed interest. The event is free for community members to attend and shop at the local vendor booths.
The purpose of the event is to create community by opening the doors of the school, support local small businesses and creators and also to raise money for charity. Vendors will have the opportunity to receive a reduced vendor fee in exchange for a basket that will be raffled off for United Way, a Jackson County School System preferred charity.
If you would like to participate in the Jaxco Holiday Market as a vendor please scan the QR code in the picture, or email JCHS staff member Savannah Ledford at sledford@jcss.us for more information. The last day to register as a vendor is Nov. 17.
Jaxco Holiday Ornament Fundraiser
Deck the Halls with Jaxco Spirit! The Jackson County High School Library Learning Commons is excited to announce our special holiday ornament fundraiser. We have beautifully crafted wooden ornaments, produced right here at JCHS, that are sure to add a festive flair to your home this holiday season. FBLA Celebrates American Enterprise Day
Join FBLA in celebrating American Enterprise Day! Hop on the bus or drive back to Empower after school on November 15th from 3:30 to 4:45. Please note that there is not a bus back to the Jackson County High School campus, so make sure to arrange your transportation accordingly. See you there!

Young Georgia Authors Competition
The Young Georgia Authors Competition is kicking off for the '23-'24 school year. Students wishing to test their writing mettle may submit their work to any English teacher. Poems, short stories, personal narratives, academic research papers, and all other original written work are accepted. Questions may be directed to Mr. Malone. The deadline to submit your work is Wednesday, January 31.

JCHS Percussion Attends PASIC
Jackson County High School Percussion visited Indianapolis, Indiana for the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) over the weekend. This is the largest convention for drummers and percussionists in the world. Our Symphonic and Wind Ensemble students will showcase their talents and attend workshops throughout the weekend.
Work-Based Learning Spotlight
CHS Senior, Abbigail Collins finished two CTAE Healthcare pathways, and is in the WBL program as an Patient Care Nurse Apprentice at Walden’s Cove. Abbigail plans to purse a degree in nursing at UNG Dahlonega. Her ultimate career ambition is to become a nurse in a hospital emergency room.

Your formal (tux or black drape) photo for the yearbook must be taken by Cady Studios. Your senior photos must be taken by December 15th to appear in the yearbook.
You may submit a casual photo by an outside photographer. If you are going to use a casual photo from your Cady shoot, you DO NOT need to upload your photo. If you would like to use a casual photo from an outside photographer, please upload your image at this link.
Be sure to type the student's first name, last name, and school email in the appropriate boxes to ensure your photo is placed in the yearbook. Then click 'Upload Portrait'. Uploading your image is the ONLY way to submit a casual photo. Please DO NOT email them to Mrs. Pitman or the yearbook staff. You MUST upload your photo by December 15th.

Apply to College Week at Jackson County High School takes place from November 13th to 17th! This unique opportunity allows you to complete your college applications with expert guidance, all at no cost to you and during regular school hours. Our dedicated counselors will assign you a specific time slot to meet with your chosen college. Be sure to keep a close eye on your email for your time slot assignment.
