(the information below is to provide guidelines on how to use your materials for another teacher to read)
To use this material, the teacher must do the following :
Receive an access key from Immerse to access teacher interface
Instruct students to create an Immerse account, and describe how to join the classroom created by the teacher
Students will be able to :
Read and find the item written on card
Describe where an item is located (room and location)
Computer - for teachers to create and control classroom
Quest 2 or 3 - for students to join classroom in Immerse (computers may work if VR headsets are unavailable)
Teacher will first describe how to use VR headset to join Immerse (or on computer if VR headsets are unavailable)
Teacher will teach how to describe a location of an item
ex) The apple is on the table in the kitchen / the book is on the desk in the room
Students will join the teacher's classroom in Immerse
Teacher will divide the students into groups of 4
Each students in a group will pick a card with items written. The students will look for the item and bring it to the teacher.
When the student brings the item to the teacher, they will tell the teacher where it was, and in which room.
Teacher will award 1 point for each student who completes the task successfully.
Teacher will have a scoreboard of each group.
If a student performs the task successfully (brings the correct item & describes where it was) a point will be awarded.
Teacher will keep track of points.
Once students join the classroom in Immerse, they will be divided into groups of 4 by the teacher.
Each group will take turn performing the task.
Students in the group will each pick up a card that has a certain item written.
Each students will look for the item in the house and bring it to the teacher and stick it on the board.
Students will show the item to the teacher, and describe where it was.
Location of the item, and in which room the item was found. (ex. The fork was on the shelf in the kitchen)
