Using Frame VR, students will work in groups to create a “showcase room” of a walk-through story. Based on traditional tales, groups will simplify the story using the "story structure" handout, and then translate their story to Frame VR. They will utilize the AI image creation tool within the app to generate images in the 3D space, and include captions that narrate the story. Then, students can then “walk through” the space and view each other’s stories.
Target Age 14+ ESL/EFL learners
Target Language Level (based on CEFR) B1+
Location Frame VR space
Reception
Read through instructions written in English
Navigate stories written in English
Production
Create simplified versions of traditional stories in English
Technological Competency
Utilize Frame VR to generate their walk-through story showcases
Storytelling Structure
Learn about the main aspects of a traditional tale and apply them in writing
Students will be able to…
Identify the main parts of a story structure. hook, setting, characters, problem, rising action, climax, falling action, resolution.
Describe each part of the structure in simple words.
Write a simplified, short story that follows the structure.
Utilize Frame VR technology to generate images and text
Present their story using AI generated images
Preparation
Students have to bring a computer or (more preferable) use the ones in the classroom. The teacher should prepare a set up and make sure the platform runs smoothly
The teacher gives a small workshop explaining how to use the platform and specifically stresses the AI image generation
One student will have to register to write, so assigning the scribe might be a good idea. During the workshop, the teacher can identify a student that works best with the technology and make them a scribe.

Pre-Task
The teacher gives instructions (workshop) on how to use the platform prior to the beginning of the task.
Main Tasks
1) Instructions
The students should go to the “Task Instructions” board, where the teacher outlines the requirements of the assignment.
As a group, the class then engages with the Story Structure board to analyze and discuss the key components of narrative organization.
Next, they move to the “Story Sample” board which provides a model of the completed task and illustrates the expected outcome.
2) Story Creation
Students are divided into groups and assigned a space (all of them are numbered) and start creating story They will use board A to write their story. They might stick only to the main ideas, there is no need to write the full text.
After completing the stage b) students must create images using built-in AI (using board B). They display it on the board using the story structure order of narration .
3) Final presentation.
Students have to present their stories to the class. Several groups will be visiting just one group, where members will present. Preferably, different students will present different parts to promote group work.
