- SHORT DESCRIPTION -
Students will work in pairs or groups to create short stories (3-4 sentences) using the AI image generator "Crayon." The generated images will accompany their written stories, forming a complete visual narrative.
Final Product: The class will compile all the stories into an e-book, which will be published on the school's webpage for families and students to read. A physical copy will also be placed in the school library.
Additional Activity: As part of the school's "Padrins i Fillols" (Mentors and Mentees) program, fifth-grade students will read their stories to their mentees, fostering intergenerational connections and sharing their creative work.
- CONTEXTUALIZATION -
Target Age: Fifth grade
Target Language Level (based on CEFR): A2/B1
Location: Classroom.
- LESSON AIMS -
Competencies specifically related to CEFR
Production: Students are working on the competence of production by creating the story.
Interaction: Students are interacting with the members of the group in order to brainstorm ideas and create the story.
Learning objectives (SWBATs)
Students will be able to apply the concepts learnt about writing sentences by creating a short story.
Students will be able to express their ideas by writing a story.
Students will be able to illustrate their ideas by using Artificial intelligence.
Preparation for the app task cycle (before the lesson)
For the preparation for the app task, students will need to create an account, so the teacher beforehand will create student accounts for each small group or pair. On the other hand, students will have four previous classes so they can prepare those concepts needed for the project. (see pre-task)

Additional materials needed: Whiteboard, dice, white paper and pencils.
- STAGES OF THE TASK -
Our project consists of 10 sessions. Four previous tasks where they are going to focus on working on the concepts they need to do the projects. Four main tasks focused on developing the project itself, and two post tasks focused on creating the final project and sharing it.
Pre-task: To achieve this activity, students will have about four previous classes: one to learn how to use the AI tool, and three different ones focused on how to write stories. That way, students are familiarized with the project's tools and concepts. However, they will be offered tools throughout the project to help them through the process.
Main task: The main task is to write a short story in pairs or small groups and illustrate with the help of the Crayion Ai tool. This main task will last about 4 sessions.
Post-task: The post-task consists of two sessions that focus on creating the final output, the e-book, and sharing the stories with their classmates. On the other hand, at the end of the project, additional activities can be proposed that focus on sharing the stories with other classmates from other courses. For example, As part of the school's "Padrins i Fillols" (Mentors and Mentees) program, fifth-grade students will read their stories to their mentees, fostering intergenerational connections and sharing their creative work.
