3rd grade, A1 level
The activity we have planned would be part of a short series of lessons that would be carried out during Saint Patrick’s week in the school with the purpose of making students aware of this holiday. These lessons would be included in the area of arts and crafts, which is taught following the CLIL approach, and also in the English Language area.
SWBAT (Students Will Be Able To):
Recognize words of the arts and crafts field in English and relate them to the corresponding object or action to use them to create a craft.
Implement easy instruction in the English language in order to design a craft.
Scissors
Paint
Glue
Crayons
Adhesive tape
Compass
Sticks for St. Patrick’s craft
Electronic devices
Worksheet for scaffolding
Instructions are for lesson 3 of the Teaching Unit. The teacher explains to the pupils that a naughty Leprechaun has disorganized the arts and crafts classroom. They have the mission to help Saint Patrick to find the objects needed to create his craft. In order to do so, they will have a 360º picture in their devices with hotspots placed over the materials they have learnt during the unit. In groups, the students will have to discuss and answer the question or do the action they will find.
Once they have found all the objects, pupils will need to go to the class pets (Black and white Panda and Colourful Parrot, also known as P&P) and follow their instructions to complete the quiz individually.
